Location excellent for tour of Essex. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast facilities excellent. Very clean rooms.

The staff were friendly and helpful as far as they were able. No hot water for shower or wash hand basin. Staff admitted there was a problem!

I felt quite comfortable staying and dining alone within the hotel. The staff were smiling and happy to help. I was upgraded to a Family room which was lovely. Thank You

Staff were pleasant, accommodating and friendly and keen to note any problems/complaints. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space - pleasantly decorated, good bathroom. Hotel was within walking distance of wedding reception. There are management problems: breakfast bar was chaotic and supplies were missing/slow in arriving; bar was sparsely supplied; maintenance work, (hammering, sawing and drilling a few yards from our room), began at 8:30 a.m.!

spacious room easy to find close to major shopping centre breakfast was disappointing, a bit disorganised. Not everything on the menu was available eg, yoghurts, fresh rolls, cheese

The staff tried to be polite despite the situation. The hotel was flooded and nobody contacted us before even though there was a contact for us. We couldn't get another room at the hotel (there was another disaster at Stansted Airport and they accommodated people from there. We have been offered a spare room at a hotel faraway from Braintree which we didn't like and didn't want to accept as it was poor & we wanted to stay in Braintree. We wasted 2 hours, petrol & ruined our stay. That weekend was a Bank holiday so it was quite difficult to find another hotel.

The hotel is outside the town next to a major road so easy to get to but you need to plan your journey if going into town and having a drink. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff especially reception lady are excellent. The breakfast spread is good but being carb intolerant I could only eat scrambled eggs and sausages. Maybe some more protein rich foods would be nice but you can't please everyone

all the staff where very friendly and helpful we thought the breakfast could do with being a lot better ie:sausages where DISGUSTING AND CHEAP at all, the beans had been reheated and were tasteless and the bread for the toast was too thin.
