room was lovely.Double suite slept 3 people. Evening meal & breakfast 1st class. Staff very friendly courteous
Noise outside on both nights at between 1& 2am due to late night revellers clearly the worse for wear. Unavoidable due to the location of hotel. Has not happened on previous occasions that we have stayed.so will not stop us visiting again
Food was good-lamb in particular. Bed was really comfy. Quite modern and quirky. Parking was convenient. Power sockets by bed side conveniently located.
No info re: free wifi Very noisy outside in the morning
Location. Food. Bed size.
suited us well for a one night stay - location good for the town - but the road network was confusing. staff seen were very helpful.
Brilliant will go back
Excellent, comfortable, spacious.
The hotel lived up to our expectations. The young lady on duty when we arrived and still there when we left was excellent.
The shower was rather small for a 1.84 male who was not fat. You can only reach the hotel by car after 16:00 hours when the road barriers are lowered. It is a pedestrian only area between 11:00 and 16:00 hrs each day.
What a lovely boutique hotel. Did the basics well andis excellent value for money. Recommended.
Stairway smelt horrendously. No plug in handbasin and they need to pull the beds out and Hoover behind them. Quite a lot of debris in room 5 when I plugged my laptop in.
The rooms are excellent and very comfortable I will definitely be going again
Pint of Brains available again, good selection of ales
Cleaness of the room (could use a vacuum cleaner some day), breakfast not included even so room per night over 100 Pound sterling
Staff were very friendly, modern and spotless room with an extremely comfortable bed :).
This hotel has been nicely refurbished and it sits in the heart of the town. The pub/restaurant is very pleasant and presents a good warm package that would suit holiday makers and business travellers alike.
You can't blame a hotel for the weather.
Comfortable, clean, well situated and staff very helpfull. Couldn't ask for more
When we were having our morning tea in bed, the bed was moving away from the headboard. This was our only mishap.
Very clean room, comfortable beds, convenient location. Lovely food in pleasant restaurant with nice ambience and freindly efficient staff. menu varied at competitive prices,
A bit noisy at night but only a minor grumble, Small touches let down the high standard which more attentive housekeeping would pick up on, for example no plug in washbasin, toilet roll holder broken , and no teaspoons provided on the hospitality tray, There was a fridge in the room but it was not switched on and was mouldy inside. It was disppointing to be told on the night that the special Christmas menu was only available by advance pre-order. Perhaps in future you could mention this on your web site at this time of year.
Loved the decor. Room was bright, spacious and very pleasant. Nice fluffy towels.
We came for International rugby at Cardiff. As Wales won the noise from celebrating fans extended (quite expectedly) into the early hours. It was the leaf blower machine at 6 am in the street outside that was really unnecessary.
Excellent food (dinner and breakfasts); location - right in the town; relatively quiet.
Sink in bathroom failed to drain properly. No way of shutting the sink plug. Hot water tap faulty. Cold water tap - evidence of previous repair (wit a pair of stilasons or big pliers). Faults reported. Staff response was excellent. Remains to be seen whether repairs are carried out. We have no way of knowing.
Unbelievably good in the cutest little village!
Room spacious and well equipped. Some nice features also. Good evening meal.
Chef was ill so no breakfast available. Generally quite slow service. Room starting to become a little tired
Modern rooms Good value rooms, food and bar Central location Boutique hotel style
Parking is not easy, but that's a penalty of a hotel in the very centre of town. Worst case is that you will have a little walk if the allocated parking spaces are full.
Bath not working disappointed, was looking forward to a relaxation in the bath after 200 miles dive and full days work!
Décor, especially bar area. Staff were polite & helpful.
Noise - had difficulty getting much sleep as bedroom overlooked street & a kebab house. It was noticeably noisy during late evening/early hours of next day . Also room was directly above the function room & all we could hear was the thump thump of the disco.
Staff Manu room
The heating was on a timer and didn't come on till 4 having by 82 year mother with us she found it cold in her room as it was November
Best most comfy bed in the whole world.
Good sized room, pleasant staff, decent restaurant for evening meals and good breakfast. Night club closed down so quieter than older reviews suggest.
Location a bit difficult for parking, you have to walk there. Town centre noise can creep up to the rooms
