Ideally located, just a 5-minute walk into York City Centre. A pretty riverside walk into the city centre. Free on-site parking is available. A full English breakfast is freshly cooked by our resident chef and served in our bright and comfortable dining room. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift. Hotel Rooms: 18

I liked the fact I was made to feel welcome and everything was explained to me clearly which was good as I was staying on my own. It is ideally situated for a short walk into town which was an obvious bonus. The assistant manager was very friendly at breakfast and she made sure I was well catered for. The room was clean and warm and the ensuite was lovely as it contained a bath. I slept very well as there didn't seem to be any noise outside. I will definitely stay there again when I'm next in York.

Convenience and has got great potential Not very clean. Bathroom floor was in poor condition and grout in tiles was dirty.Shower unit was very poor and not very powerful. Room needed decorating right through and carpets were not brilliant. Windows were old and in need of replacement or repair. Breakfast was ok, but cereals were clearly the cheaper end of the market. I would have expected to see the small individual cereal packets rather than cheap cereals in tupperware boxes The photos on the website did not reflect the real state of the rooms

The Staff were very Polite and Helpful, from the Moment we arrived we felt very Relaxed, and we knew we would enjoy our stay. The Secure Private Parking was Brilliant. The Room was Very Clean & Very Comfortable as was the En suite bathroom, We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of a trip to York, as it is only a ten min walk from york centre.

Close to the city, good value, modern decor, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. There was no bar in the hotel, which meant that we didn't spend much time in the hotel relaxing. We would have gone into town anyway to enjoy the nightlife, but it was bitterly cold outdoors, and it would have been nice to end the night in the hotel bar before going to bed. There is however a pub quite close to the hotel.

The location was great, just a short walk from York centre, polite, helpful staff! Being able to park in the residents car park before and after check out was a really big plus! The bed was huge and extremely comfortable (club double room)

It's nice and close to the center and you can walk in and out of town on your nite out The room I stayed in was room 9! The wingow was broke, no Handel, The staff have the smoking area under neithe this window so you get the smoke in your room, and here about the local gossip and disrupted all nite buy the nite shift staff smoking and rattling keys. The room was also extremely hot allday and nite with no way to cool it down but to open the window or use a fan! The heater unit did not go below 22* unfortunately

Very helpful and pleasant staff. We were allowed to park the car when we arrived in the morning and so were able to make the most of our 2 night stay. The room was very good ( club room) and the super kingsize bed was extremely comfortable. Good choice of breakfast menu served by a very nice young lady. Bathroom very good with excellent lighting and large mirrors. Would recommend and revisit.

The location was very good, just a 10 minute riverside stroll to Cliffords Tower. Very good individually cooked breakfast. The exterior was unkempt, the bar entrance on the front of the building had collapsed, excess of waste around rubbish bins. There had not been any tidying up outside during our 3 night stay. We were not given clean cups in our room. They had just been swilled under the bathroom tap and put upside down on the tray, so when we came to use the the following morning, they were stuck tight to the tray and still had the previous day coffee residue around them!!!

The hotel was exactly what we thought it was going to be it wasn't the ritz but it was good value for money! Room was a reasonable size, had plenty of wardrobe space and extra pillows. The bed was really comfy the best I've slept on in a hotel to be fair. The bathroom however was very dated, guaranteed it was clean but it just looked so old and shabby that it still didn't feel clean. Breakfast was good no complaints and had some really nice local pubs just across the road! Overall I would stay here again, we got way we paid for and had a really good weekend! We was there 2 nights and nobody came and cleaned our room the whole time we Was there, so if we needed replacement towels it we had used all the tea and coffee supplies then we would have ran out! Think they do need to replace their quilt though, I made our bed one morning and noticed it was quite disgusting! Bathroom could do with seriously updating and the shower took quite a while to get to the right temperature.

Close to the city centre. Breakfast included. The bathroom definitely needs some serious refurbishment. It's the weakest point of the hotel.

The hotel itself is very basic although it was warm and the staff very friendly, I found the lack of facilities a little disappointing. No food served other than breakfast so budget wise you could end up spending quite a lot. Location is very good for the city centre and the river. Over all I had a good stay but would have liked a few more options within the hotel.

Close to City Centre. Fexible book in time. If I can't put in complaints, what is the point of having a section for things I don't like. Didnt like, 1. dirty loo seat 2. mould around bath 3. screeching leaky tap, which I asked to be repaired, but wasn't 4. tempremental television 5. grumpy staff

It is just 5 minutes' walk from the Barbican, and 10 from the town centre. Parking was easy, staff were friendly, breakfast was good, with a wide choice (I had croissants). The bed, in common with most hotel beds, was a bit hard. The now outdated view that orthopaedic beds are good for bad backs is probably responsible for this trend. I look forward to memory foam mattresses making it into hotel rooms!
