A short walk from Ludlow town centre, The Charlton Arms provides attractive rooms and fine dining on the Ludford Bridge. This Shropshire pub is just 10 minutes’ walk from the medieval Ludlow Castle.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Tasty, well cooked breakfast. Plus the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! A shame that we only stayed one night. Would love to return.
Helpfulness of staff especially dealing with telephone probl I had
Lack of good bus link to nearest railway station
The village was lovely then the room was the icing on the cake we ate in the restaurant which was lovely and not over priced we definitely be back well impressed
Luckily hotel had rooms and I had my e mail confirmation as they hadn't received anthing for my booking for that night
Nice Staff Comfy bed Quiet room Nice village next to great walks on the Long Mynd
Leaving on Sunday:(
My stay was made very welcome by the staff.I was attending a wedding and my room was very acceptable.Could recommend it to any of my friends.Food was excellent in the evening and breakfast was acceptable as well.
nothing to do with the Boars Head Inn.Transport was a problem to Shrewsbury on the Sunday. No bus service.
Staff and owners very friendly. Food and drink very good. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation as we have paid a lot more for inferior rooms.
If you want a warm welcoming hotel with clean, comfortable well equipped room, very tasty and reasonably priced food served by friendly people then book here. Nice hotel run by lovely friendly people.
Good central position in the town. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Room was well equipped and very spacious. Ample car parking.
The slimline basin in the bathroom - looks good but is very impractical!
Really excellent, good breakfast and very good reasonably priced food served - and oh, good beer!
Staff helpful and friendly. Room in a separate block and was refurbished to a good standard. Restaurant busy and used by locals as wells guests, nice atmosphere. Good location east to reach Ludlow and Shrewsbury.
The food was good but a bit on the "salty" side, better to let the Diner add themselves
The room was superb as was the breakfast both befitting somewhere probably twice the price.
There wasn't much not to like. Darren the owner was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Stu and Shonny were equally attentive. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable with lovely bathrooms (you even get a choice of showers) with baths in all of them. We ate there on both nights that we stayed and all of our meals were delicious, the Faggots and Shropshire Hotpot in particular were outstanding. There are good choices for breakfast including a rather nice 'Full English'. We will be going back.
Ran out of Brandy on the 2nd night but I may have had something to do with that!!
Excellent room very clean and food in the pub was very good
The room was clean, bright, spacious and nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful, Stuart and the team made sure we had everything we needed. Delicious meal, making the most of locally sourced ingredients and a very reasonable priced wine list.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this hotel!
good room, good & friendly staff
food was average wifi problem but solved
Everything. Breakfast and food really excellent
Not having a bedside table on both sides of the double bed.
Room was superb and staff were all really friendly
Wi Fi was a bit patchy and TV didn't have full digital service but that is probably a location issue
the staff good, breakfast really good, room excellent.
Accommodation was spacious in a separate building to the pub. Lots of room and a nice spacious bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were both very good.
Fantastic family room, comfy huge bed & no noise. Wish I could have taken it home with me!!
Nothing to dislike
Excellent breakfast. Good pub with fine selection of ales. Large comfy room
TV signal was really poor Toiletries woefully inadequate Not particularly child friendly
All excellent, gret value for money, superb food at a reasonable price. There was a great atmosphere in the pub too, we will be back!
Large rooms three person room no 2. Lovely friendly staff and pub is traditional old English style. Just lovely atmosphere but book a table on weekends as is popular at times. Really enjoyable food and attentive friendly staff.
Hand basin had a slimline design but impracticalital as a shelf below the mirror meant no room foryour head over the basin. Well intended, trendy looking but useless, unfortunately.
