Really handy location
Hotel is a bit tired & bed was way too soft
Great location in town centre. On- site parking. Good breakfast. Good service.
Price. In keeping with most hotels in U.K over-priced and poor value for money. 5-star prices for 3- star hotels.
Nicely situated, good value and friendly staff. Will probably stay again when in the area.
Every thing about the boars head
parking very tight
staff food comfort of rooms bar service location
area location of hotel hotel restaurant food bedroom bar staff
Very convenient location with car parking as long as your vehicle is not too wide. Bed comfortable.
We felt the property could do with a greater level of cleanliness.
Very central ad very comfortable.
Was kept waiting to check in for what seemed like ages.
The bedroom was clean, and although it overlooked the main road it was not noisy. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept well.
Staff varied in how welcoming they were. Breakfast on our first morning was so bad that we didn't bother trying to eat there again. There was no fruit out even though it was stated on the menu as 'seasonal fruit'. It being summer I had expected summer fruits, but when I asked for some, a huge bowl of French golden delicious, bananas and oranges was brought out. They were inedible as they were straight out of a very cold fridge. Coffee took about 20 minutes to arrive at the table, and was nothing stronger than brown water. We then felt very wasteful leaving nearly 4 full plates of food at the table as the cooked breakfast was dreadful. Such a shame after we'd had a brilliant night's sleep. We won't be staying here again.
Staff in Reception were very friendly when booking in - and Welsh!
Wanted to be at the University early for graduation but hreakfast took ages to be served. There wasn't anybody in Reception for check out, therefore, had to find cash and leave it with the key behind the desk!
all of the above:- the bedroom room the service the restaurant the staff the location
The location, the staff, nice old public house/hotel and of course the breakfast, but again the staff are so nice and very helpful.
The noise! Stayed at this hotel last year and main road town noise bad but much much worse this year. They even had a 'do' on the Saturday which we were not made aware of.
Maurding drunken foul mouthed yobs in near by streets making sleep impossible.
Location wise, it's the best hotel in Carmarthen.
Fairly good location for the town. The staff were excellent, very friendly and did everything you asked of them, The food and prices were quite reasonable. being slightly disabled the room and shower was good and we were very comfortable there
we had a disabled room at the back of the hotel, it would have been nice to be able to have walked through the hotel to the bar instead of having to go round the outside, glad it was dry.
staff excellent food excellent bar and drinks very good
Good Location, Great cooked breakfast, Friendly staff,
bathroom mouldy around bath, bathroom lights not secure, shower head lose, positioning of wall sockets in wrong place(could not access them) window filthy(seal gone) breakfast milk off 2 days in a row, would like to have had a fridge in room, People smoking in door way or around the door way and when sat in bar it smelled with it blowing in.
Price was right as was location
Staff had no pasion for their work, just going thru the motions to do what was expected of them. Evening meal was very ordinary.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them. As for the food, it was very very good and the room (disabled) we had was very clean and comfortable and I would recommend the Boars Head to my friends.
Staff very friendly. Room fine. Nice old historic hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
All fine. Stairs can be bit of a hike - but you have to remember that it's an old historic building.
The staff were really nice and friendly. Food was excellent. Location was very good close to the town centre and amenities.
The stairs but what would you expect in such an old and lovely building. We were on the top floor but that was my fault when booking forgot to ask for a low floor.
as we arrived at the boar's head we had booked through booking.com we had 2 rooms booked but the proprieter was admanant we only had one booked even though it was in black and white on our confirmation from you, she blamed you cos there was only one name on the booking even though it had down very plainly 2 rooms, she said she was fully booked and would allocate 2 of us in a different hotel which I would not agree to, she then swapped 2 people from a family room and allocated that room to us with being 4 in our party after a long wait, next morning went down to breakfast no table allocated for our room number so had to wait around again to be seated somewhere else we were down for breakfast for 7.30 on the dot as we were limited for time as we had a taxi ordered for 8.30 to take us up to the university for our daughter's graduation we waited 40 minutes so I eventually asked the waitress how much longer would we have to wait or we would have to cancel our order and go breakfast eventually arrived at 8.30 a 50 minute wait so we had to shovel it down and run for our taxi, not very happy customers at all
Proximity to train station Late check-in no problem Very friendly staff Clean
the hotel was friendly very clean room had four poster bed,tv tea and coffee facilities and very friendly staff.
Was a bit noisy from 05:30 in the morning.
