The food choice is great and very good value with large portions! Staff were friendly and nothing was a problem. The real ale choice was good too. The walls are quite thin and some TV noise could be heard from next door. Some rooms front the road and vehicle noise can be a problem

Bathroom was mouldy in places. The trim around the bath was coming away and the toilet roll holder was missing. Stairs to room could be a problem for older people.

The old fashioned decor and layout of the pub and hotel. The food was lovely, as was the breakfast. The number of stairs leading up to the bedroom......... too tired after a long drive down....

All the creature comforts were accessible. The stay was hassle free and enjoyable No control over heating and would have liked what was available for room service on the hotel information guide.

The location was very good, right in the centre of Camarthen. Perfect to walk to the local shops/restaurant. The full english breakfast was tasty, however the alternatives were limited slightly. The hotel was covered in fake flowers which gave the corridoors and room a slightly fake feel. The boars head prides itself on having a lot of history and remaining unaltered since 1820, however it feels like the furnishings and decor hasnt been altered since then either. The walls between rooms are thin so it is possible to hear your neighbours tv/phone conversations and their snoring so not recommended for light sleepers. The bar seemed reasonably priced however the night we were there we had to choose between listening to loud music in one half or sitting in the middle of the local womens darts teams social evening.

Nice friendly old coaching house, we stayed in the Master room with a luxury four poster bed. Good local beer and a good selection of wine. The town was very good, good shopping, lots of traditional pubs and resturants. Good access to the coast and country side. Live entertainment was directly under the Master bedroom.. Not a problem for us as we joined in, could be a problem for a more elderly couple.

Location near to bus coach station I really feel sorry for the hotel boss attitude. She don't know how to welcome guest nor to explain them policy of her hotel. She is very rude as per her customer service is concerned. Very dangerous for the growth of hotel business. She should develop her hospitality skill to deal with her customers. Also they take 16 digits card number with the security three digit number from the backside of card which is not right. If they think that customer would not pay then ask them to pay when they entered the hotel. They are really building up wrong approach to charge customer for their stay by taking their card details as well as security code from back of card.

Nice old coaching inn full of charm. It was very cold outside and the room was a little bit chilly for my liking. The evening meal was dissapointing, the steak was very average. I'm sure in finner weather its lovely.

reasonable pub reasonable beer reasonable room Breakfast OK Shower head fell off the hose and squirted out of where it joins, and difficult to achieve balanced temperature. We were not aware that there was to be live music until midnight until we arrived and it was very noisy. Very loud people in the street until 04.00 Breakfast a bit basic and the scrambled egg was poor. We are unlikely to stay there again due to the noise.

The local beer and a decent bar. The room is quite basic and needs complete refurbishment. The food is not freshly prepared and is bought in from somwhere like Brakes. The staff are not fully attentive.

The Staff at the Boars Head Hotel are great. Thank you. The breakfast included was great considering the price. Thank you. Sort out the bedside lamps and put bulbs in lamps and where you have a lamp have a socket. Heat the rooms better. Its a mild winter and it was cold. The mattresses are old uncomfortable and need replacing. When you provide a tea and coffee tray please provide a plug. The kettle wiring on the base was dodge and exposed on the base. The whole room needs a makeover including the bathroom. The rooms need an urgent makeover. I suggest the manager tries the rooms out and invests in them allowing in turn the room price to be higher. Final point is a veggie pasta dish as the only evening meal for veggies is losing you evening meal trade. Its a place to crash when you want a cheap hotel and not a place you would chose for a weekend trip but it can be easily turned around and improved.
