love this hotel and their food
Carmarthen is a lovely place to visit. Hotel ideally situated for access to shops etc.The hotel provided good service and the breakfast was excellent. Lovely room, lots of hot water and a great bath.
Don't book room 15 if you want an early night ,especially if it is live music night!!
Value for money. Food was excellent.
Steep stairs, bedroom was cold.
Excellent central location to the town which was within walking distance.
Our bedroom was located directly above a function room which had a party until midnight. Therefore unable to sleep until the party had finished.
The rooms were comfy and the staff were courteous. The location of the hotel was great for or needs - our Xmas Do. Breakfast was exceptional.
Refuse vans at 4am disturbed our sleep.
Brilliant, friendly helpful staff. Excellent meals and service Room was comfortable and plenty of storage space. Excellent atmosphere
Very steep stairs to bedrooms, car park difficult to find with very narrow entrance
Friendly, efficient staff a welcoming atmosphere and an Inn of great character. A great base for exploring the local area and similar in price to a Travel Lodge there is no comparison The Boars Head is a clear winner
I would simply be nit picking to complain
Well appointed room
The car park was small, full and difficult to manoeuvre in a large car!
I liked the location. And the staffs very friendly.
Service quite traditional type and £57 per night is quite expensive for earlier booking. However cheapest in the locality.
I stayed with a couple of friends for a weekend shopping trip The atmosphere was friendly, staff very helpful and the evening entertainment on Saturday 22nd Nov was an unexpected bonus. Hotel was spotless and fabulous value
The room was subject to a bit of noise from outside but that is only to be expected in a town centre on a Saturday night.
Ideal location for town centre, free parking, good beer.
Heating in bar and bedrooms was turned down low. Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was thrown together without too much effort, cold toast, under cooked cold tomato that only had a glimpse at the grill. We seemed to be a hindrance to the breakfast staff.
Nice clean family room, good food, very friendly staff
good location for town centre
bathroom in need off upgrading.
Location; old building
Hotel and staff are a bit ramshackle. The chef didn't turn up in time for breakfast on one day; so had to leave for work without having breakfast. No apology was offered by the staff or manager
10mins to get the shower temp right. Either freezing or scolding.
Room was lovely with a four poster bed and bathroom spacious with good facilities, although a little cold due to radiator not working. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Food choice also very good.
The room we had was above the bar area and we heard almost every noise, although to be fair we were advised of late night entertainment on our 3rd night.
Convenient & friendly! Very helpful!
Too soft bed!
Stairs, bathroom shabby and dated.general appearance of room worn and needed tlc.
Everything very good. Had Sunday carvery, which was very tasty. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast very good. Plenty of hot water and the room very cosy. We requested a quiet room and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
One minus and it's very small. We had room number 16 which had peeling paint hanging from the ceiling directly above the bed, and looked ready to drop off at anytime.
Food was good
The managers were quite rude and abrupt, and not very chatty, breakfast a bit hit miss.
was given an upgrade to a very large room, staff were very friendly, nice bar serving a great pint good food
We loved the location. The hotel parking facility was very convenient. The hotel itself was charming and characterful, with friendly, helpful staff.
Despite the room being very pleasant, the bed was dreadful unfortunately. The mattress was hard and lumpy and we did not sleep well at all. Most of the staff were friendly and very efficient but one young lady seemed to immediately forget our breakfast order despite writing it down, and we noticed that other people in the restaurant had the same experience.
Nice setting and comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Staff friendly.
Restaurant menu lacked variety and not many vegetables on offer in the evening. The carvery that was advertised finished at 2.30pm.
