The staff did their best to be accomodating

The hotel is quite old fashioned and I felt are accustomed to dealing mainly with local, regular customers

Good breakfast and meals, great staff, good drink, central location.

Do not book the Master Bedroom. It is right above the bar and you can hear absolutely everything from the bar and from outside. Could not sleep a wink on the first night. We asked to move rooms (no problems at all) and we were on the next floor up, same part of the hotel but heard nothing.

Clean spacious room and as we were at the back of the hotel very quiet. One word of advice though is if your located in the disabled rooms at the back your door key fits the front of th hotel to get in for breakfast.

No heating in the morning so was freezing when we had a shower.

The evening meal was very good and we enjoyed some very nice wine, the waiter was very good at his job and smart in appearance.

the barmaid was unfriendly and the breakfast was not good, we had to wait for a long time before it came, I asked for brown toast with my scrambled egg, it came with white, I complained and the waiter said he only had one slice of brown!!!! The tv did not work in our room!.

top floor room , four flights of stairs two much for two 70 year olds,

We booked a family room which was ideal for the night, there were two adults and three children, two double beds and a wide put you up sofa bed, all adequate, the room was good and shower/bath facilities good.

We asked several questions about parking and access to the car park, accomadation, which were met with very curt replies, from the manageress she could be a lot more pleasant to paying guests. I would recomend the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Boars Head very much. Very cheerful, polite,helpful and pleasant staff.A nice room and a really good breakfast.

Our bed was rather uncomfortable but my colleague said his bed was fine - luck of the draw.

The staff were very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was good you could have as much cereal, juice & fruit as you wanted. Live entertainment on Saturday night. Interesting historical accessories eg old livery. It is good for a base to explore the surrounding area.

The bed in our room was very squeaky, it made a noise everytime you moved. Car park was hard to find & very small, the chef moved his car to allow us to park. At the time of our visit the hotel was obscured by scaffolding & we drove around the town 3 times before we found it. The decor in the rooms was a bit dated with carpet in the bathroom. Towels were old & tatty.

Friendly staff. Authentic feel to the hotel. A good well-cooked evening meal. Pleasant one night stay.

Rooms at front are noisy. Buses stop, engines idling outside.

Nothing specific to like. It provided a location for a warm dry bed overnight. We didn't expect anything special and weren't disappointed. Secure parking was useful

Very noisy on Saturday night with live music to 23.30 and then a juke box which continued at high volume until we complained at 00.20. Breakfast was nothing special.
