Score from 491 reviews Excellent
Dog friendliness Comfortable bed
Shower in room 206 poor. Should have been power shower
Good breakfast Very pleasant staff
Bedroom shabby bathroom dirty and really shabby. Shower barely gave a trickle of warm water. My partner gave up trying to shower in the morning. (we stayed one night). We had an evening meal which was way over priced and my vegetarian option was absolutely rubbish...pasta cooked to a mush and tasteless tomato sauce. Also portion was starter size. I complained the next morning on checking out and they returned the cost of my main meal. However I would have prefered paying for a decent meal.
General pleasant ,friendly and helpful atmosphere.Good food nicely presented.
Internet access only possible in reception
Staff excellent. Food very tasty, but we should have been informed of the "meal deal" before ordering drinks.
Bedroom 209 requires the following:- Pull switch above bathroom mirror Summer weight duvets Bed sheet during summer time Power points at bedside. The above additions would enhance the room and make for a better night's sleep.
Very good all round. Friendly and helpful staff and a very nice, clean and fresh room. Good value and well located if travelling by car.
Nice location, old cosy building, very friendly and helpful staff (esp. at the reception desk).
Location Friendly staff Food quality good
Corridors & Rooms in the main building need total upgrading - very shabby and dirty!
The turret on the building and the nearby old railway station (still in use) with The Royal Scotsman pulling in gave a feeling of being back in bygone days - very pleasant feeling I might add. The history of the village is interesting, especially the origin of its name and the plight of the Osprey population - now settled in the area - info all available and illustrated on a board at the station. The nearby community garden is very pleasant and relaxing. All in all, avert nice place to stay. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and smiley people
Location, Quality of rooms. Friendly staff
Suite wasn't really what I'd call a suite and there appeared to be a lot of new staff who struggled understanding English.
With it being a dog friendly hotel we were supposed we could take our puppy. The place was amazing and very accommodating as we didn't want to leave the puppy in the room alone so we were able to take her to the dinner table that had been set up for us in the reception and also for breakfast in the morning. The food was amazing and was very well suited to anyone. Would definately go back. 10/10
Wasn't much to do in the village at our time of arrival and departure.
Staff, Menu, Food Next to Vintage Railway which goes to Aviemore
Understaffed, cold food, very small bed, very thin walls - so you could here everything from the next rooms
Very dirty rooms that stink of food.
Good reception staff; good external seating; friendly helpful staff; good quality, freshly prepared food;
Bar and food prices extortionate; room too hot and a bit cramped; too limited a selection of reasonably priced wine esp white; unable to cope with bus party all arriving at once for breakfast; B&B rate too expensive for quality of accommodation; narrow stairs and tired carpets
Speed of service. Wifi signal strength poor.
Friendly staff. Location. Very dog friendly.
The food is very good.
Rude staff, possibly due to stress, they all look VERY stressed. Dated hotel unless you're in the deluxe rooms. No atmosphere in restaurant and at breakfast. Restaurant staff rude, can hardly speak/understand English and no respect for guests.
Superb stay. Fantastic food, beautiful scenery. Best hotel bed I have ever slept on by far. 11/10
Desayuno, confort, amabilidad y calidad-precio.
Corridors leading to the bed rooms were tired, dull, carpets were worn.
The recovery by the staff of a very poor start. The food and the beds.
Our main course took forty minutes to arrive, despite heaving booked the table four weeks ago. The order had been " lost" between the bar and the kitchen. Not impressed.
Lovely room, and bathroom with free-standing tub. Food was excellent.
Beds very comfortable. Good ambient lights, good showers and lovley Scottish Soap tolietries, tea/coffee facility and hair dryer, fluffy towels, great breakfast and choice. Bar/restaurant tasteful/modern decor and good food. Stones throw from train station. Had a beer garden and parking. Had an excellent stay!
Usually prefer a trendy/hip hotel. This is traditional. Tired in places. No lift to the upper floors? But all this does not take away from the service and quality-we had a great stay.
Booked a room for 2 adults one child - but no bed was supplied for my son despite asking on arrival. Children were meant to eat free when dining with parents this was not the case except on our last night. The carpets desperately need replacing throughout the hotel and in our room there were stains all over the floor. The staff were clearly undertrained.
