We have used this hotel before and it is ideal for a night-stop prior to the ferry over to Ireland. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good and the rooms clean and tidy.

I was astounded to find that funds had been taken from my credit card without my approval, even though I was in the hotel. This is an appauling practice, which I have reported to my card provider. For this reason I will not stay in this hotel again.

The staff was fantastic, especially the girls in the bar! The food and the atmosphere was great. The location was fantastic and exactly what we expected as we had been on google earth in advance to check out the hotel. The room rates were a bit steep considering it is the off season. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom which was a bit odd.

The Boathouse is the perfect location for the Breakwater Country Park, and only a short walk to/from town, train station & ferry port. Handy little Post Office just up the road. Nice breakfasts and evening meal & friendly staff.

Its location is ideal for the half marathon on the Saturday, whilst still being within walking distance of the town. A comfortable family run hotel. I was not given a chance to see my bill before the money was taken from my account. I have never had this happen anywhere else. It is usual to confirm the account before payment is taken!!

The only positive comment we can make about this accommodation is that it is convenient when you have an early ferry crossing. The decor of the room was severely outdated and the lime green bathroom suite left alot to be desired for in terms of cleaniness. The food provided was of a poor quality as was the attitude of some of the staff, particulalry in the morning. A course on customer engagment may prove to be helpful. Asked for an early morning call - proved to be challenging for the staff who reluctantly agreed but never receivied one.

Very accommodating. It has an outlook on the Irish sea with beautiful walks to be had close by. Boats anchored just off shore. Welsh ponies up the road; sheep grazing. Couldn't get any more idyllic.

Exceptional Hospitality and Courtesy.....Carill and Sandra made it most homely. Retains local character. Prices difficult for irish Euros, though this rate was most competitive in area and we were well minded.

The staff were excellent- really kind- the pub below was very convenient. We had no problem with noise - Our kids (10, 6, and 4) slept very soundly- as did we. The hotel is an easy 20-25 minute walk from the Irish Ferries terminal- through a V. Quaint town. Pre-arrange car rental (offices in town not open many hours) and be sure to see some of the local nature preserves and South Stack Lighthouse. This is a sweet hotel with easy-going and cheerful staff.

It was ideally situated for catching early ferry to Dublin. Staff were helpful and courteous. The room was reduced to half-price (£55). It would not have been value-for- money at the full price. The hotel served my purpose for a one-night stay convenient for onward travel but would recommend it on this basis only.

I stay in hotels 3 days a week every week. I am platinum member of Holiday inn. This hotel is extremely tired. The carpets and everything else in the room I had were old and dirty. The seats in the restaurant had no springs and the food was very average

It is a friendly small community atmosphere and all the facilities where top notch and in fine working order. This was especially a treat after staying at a much smaller hotel in London with much poorer quality and for a lot more. I had no complaints. The only minor flaw is wi-fi is only available downstairs and not in the room.
