The Bridge Hotel  

The hotel has excellent parking and a very nice riverside restaurant. We were staying to be close to Hampton Court Flower Show. We would use the Hotel again.

The bed

Badly described on booking.com. The riverside room didn't have a view ofthe river

The first room we were allocated had a king sized bed. The problem with the toilet fitting was investigated promptly by the staff but could not be rectified. We were offered meal vouchers for the restaurant but declined this and requested a different room. This was possible as the Hotel was not full and we were moved straight away.

After being allocated the first room, we noticed the toilet seat was totally detached from the base and could not understand why the management had not been informed by the cleaning staff of this problem. The second room allocated was much bigger, but only had a double bed so there was a lot of wasted space.

The location for our needs was perfect. The little things let it down: 1. having to call reception twice in 2 days for coffee in the room 2. one small shower gel sachet between 2 of us 3. perfectly good bar of soap removed on the first day and no replacement 4. bar meals not that good - particularly the seafood pasta ( my wife would have sent back had we not been with friends for the evening ) 5. breakfast service very slow - had to wait 20 minutes for poached egg on toast - we were the only people in the dining room ! - 3 out of the 4 eggs between us were hard - only one properly poached 6. ridiculous discussion the night before with bar staff - the barman tried to squeeze a large spritzer into a standard wine glass and had no other glasses to use - he would not pour it into a half pint glass ( normal for this drink ) and top up with soda - I had to order a small wine which he poured into a half pint glass and topped up with soda - the large wine in the standard wine glass was discarded - how stupid is that ?

The bed although two singles pushed together was very comfortable Breakfast and Boathouse was great Staff were very helpful

Location near the river

The restaurant has a cold and empty feeling - not somewhere I felt particulalry comfortable and relaxed. (the food however was good)

I liked everything about the Hotel apart one thing that me and my partner were having evening tea between 1900 hrs to 1930. This girl bartender was serving an order holding a glass of I think coke and took a sip tasted and send for serve. That was bad impression I think. I was going go and tell her but my partner didn't let me get involve. Thank you

Location next to river - our room had view over Thames

Tried to book directly, but no family rooms left and then when we booked via booking.com we booked a family room. I then rang to confirm and we were booked in, so this shows that booking agents have rooms available when the hotel reception doesn'T. I knew of this when I worked for Expotel as they used to block book rooms. Arrived at the hotel to be received by friendly staff, who seemed to be quite efficient. We were also pleased to find out, as we had a call before we left our house to offer us a free upgrade to a junior suite, that this was still the case and made this stay excellent value for money. The room was excellent, warm and comfortable and had all the facilities you would expect, including a full size ironing board and iron. We also enjoyed watching the well placed wall mounted 50" TV that could be seen from the beds. The shower was fantastic, as was the bathroom mirror, which had a light all the way round making it ideal for shaving. The parents King size bed was excellent and very elegantly made up On the whole, a clean, modern hotel, with good parking and a close riverside location, that does the job but slightly lacking in atmosphere and character. Great barman though, who did have plenty of character! Chris

A few basic errors: The in room phone didn't work. There were no toilet rolls in the bathroom We informed the receptionist on our way out at 8.30 pm, but there were still none when we returned after midnight. Our son'r sofa bed had a huge gap in the middle, possibly due to a broken plank. The strangest complaint we've ever had to make was to make them aware that the smoke alarm seemed to have been covered up by a condom! We reported this on our departure next morning. Just a little more room preparation required and we would certainly stay at this hotel again. Chris

The room was clean and we liked the complementary cookies. Good parking close by.

It looked old. The room was a lot smaller than what we expected (after seeing the pictures on the internet).

Easy to find with your directions. Lovely position on the waters edge. Safe parking. Perfect Staff. Super clean room and very comfortable.

The Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
