This historic Gothic mansion sits in tranquil parkland on the Cotswold Edge, beside the Severn Valley and close to Bristol. It offers fine dining, a leisure club, and spacious, traditional rooms.

I found a great welcome at Bodkin House. I have stayed there before and it was as good the second time around. Very good food and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Good location, welcoming owners and good food on site
A very comfortable room with everything necessary for a very enjoyable stay. Good beer and excellent food. I'll be back!
This is a family ran establishment and all give an excellent personal service. Nothing is too much to ask. Food is top drawer and it is obvious that much work has been done to source the best produce.
There were no negatives.
The character filled building and warm friendly atmosphere provided a comfortable night followed by a tasty full English breakfast
Convenient for South Cotswolds and Chipping Sodbury. Excellent food and friendly environment Historic building and comfortable room Good value for money
Poor quality dining room furniture Poor quality shower
From the moment we walked through the door we realised this was no ordinary hotel, the rooms, hosts and breakfast was superb, We will be traveling again in about 6 weeks and will defiantly be staying there again. Very very impressed
Leaving in the morning, we could have easily stayed lomger and wish we had.
pleasant and not false, made to feel like a guest and not a customer
no dislikes, my type of place
The hotel was easy to find with good car parking. The welcome was excellent. The room and bed also. The food was very good and staff very attentive.Meals were available both in the bar and restaurant with a value option for Sunday lunch. Few guests as it ws Nov. hence quiet. We would revisit if again in the area.
Service was great and the food was lovely
The food,the room and staff
Spacious, comfortable, clean, friendly, easy access to major road networks, good breakfast.
Lack of wi-fi in room
We were looking for somewhere just to have a weekend away, so we just picked this hotel as you would numbers for a lottery ticket. The name drew us. Then what drew us was the price, that included breakfast, compared to other hotels around, was very reasonable. Bodkin house was easy to find and had plenty of parking. It had a very warm and homely feel and you could sense its history. The welcome was nice and unfussy and we were shown to our room, We opted for a deluxe double. It did not disappoint, being spacious and cosy and the bed fantastic. We decided to eat in the restaurant and were not disappointed, the food was on a par with city restaurants, totally excellent, beautifully presented and served by attentive, but not intrusive staff. We woke up feeling very refreshed and found breakfast a joy. The selection on offer was comprehensive. So we would highly recommend Bodkin House for its homely charm, friendly staff, accommodation and food that is some of the best we've ever had. Above all, it is great value for money, with service that didn't cost the earth.
Nothing really, Bodkin House did everything we were looking for. Keep up the great work. Only regret was that we didn't have longer.
Lovely location not far from motorway very good food and value for money will definitely go there again when traveling to Cornwall
Very comfortable stay with friendly staff happy to help with anything. Comfortable, clean room and a great breakfast, what more could you ask for!
Lovely staff, they went out of their way to get us settled in and let us into our room earlier as we had to go to a wedding.
Bed was uncomfortable
The room and food were so lovely xx
good food. lovely breakfast.
shower very tempermental noise travels throughout building. pictures in the room
The food was good.
Building badly in need of repair, renovation and a thorough clean and makeover including grounds.
On arrival we discovered that the hotel had allocated our double room to someone else and told us that they had put us in a twin
Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was full on the night I stayed and they were very busy. Food was good. Bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep desp;ite the very busy road and associated noise. I am a heavy sleeper.
Room was not cleaned properly. I lay on the bed and when I put on the bedside light the bulb had a deep layer of dust as did the lamp body. The bedside cabinet likewise needed dusting. I opened the kettle to find a large amount of limescale in it including loose large bits at the bottom. I emptied these into the sink and got them out of the plughole to put in the bin. A large amount of hair came from the plughole too! I noted there was a lot of limescale like scum in the kettle on the kettle sides. This put me off enough not to make a drink in the room. The fan in the shower room was dirty. The shower head din't fit the holder and shot up when turned on. Despite a large shower tray being provided a shower curtain is needed to stop water hitting the floor. The cleaner needs to do a more thorough job and management need to check rooms in more detail.
Manager dealt with problem about booking - they had made a misatke in their record keeping. We didn't eat in the evening, but breakfast was good
Hotel is on a busy raod, although it wasn't too bad at night
