Very comfortable stay with friendly staff happy to help with anything. Comfortable, clean room and a great breakfast, what more could you ask for!
Lovely staff, they went out of their way to get us settled in and let us into our room earlier as we had to go to a wedding.
Bed was uncomfortable
The room and food were so lovely xx
good food. lovely breakfast.
shower very tempermental noise travels throughout building. pictures in the room
The food was good.
Building badly in need of repair, renovation and a thorough clean and makeover including grounds.
On arrival we discovered that the hotel had allocated our double room to someone else and told us that they had put us in a twin
Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was full on the night I stayed and they were very busy. Food was good. Bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep desp;ite the very busy road and associated noise. I am a heavy sleeper.
Room was not cleaned properly. I lay on the bed and when I put on the bedside light the bulb had a deep layer of dust as did the lamp body. The bedside cabinet likewise needed dusting. I opened the kettle to find a large amount of limescale in it including loose large bits at the bottom. I emptied these into the sink and got them out of the plughole to put in the bin. A large amount of hair came from the plughole too! I noted there was a lot of limescale like scum in the kettle on the kettle sides. This put me off enough not to make a drink in the room. The fan in the shower room was dirty. The shower head din't fit the holder and shot up when turned on. Despite a large shower tray being provided a shower curtain is needed to stop water hitting the floor. The cleaner needs to do a more thorough job and management need to check rooms in more detail.
Manager dealt with problem about booking - they had made a misatke in their record keeping. We didn't eat in the evening, but breakfast was good
Hotel is on a busy raod, although it wasn't too bad at night
The hotel, breakfast ,staff and location Full of charm and history Does a lovely pint of cider!!!!!
nothing at all
Hotel with character and good quality food. Large garden and decking area.
Proximity to a main road. Broken window blind and a sash window that need a log to keep it open for some fresh air.
Bar/Restaurant food and general ambience
Uplighting floodlights for illuminating the property at night are on all night and one pointed directly through one of our windows from below and made the room very light even with all of the internal lights out
Roome a bit tardy. In particular the upstairs rooms. Need some renovation
Overall - a very good and comprehensive service: accommodation, food ( both dinner and breakfast), bar and staff.
Front door needed painting MIt did no. Justice to the service offer inside.
Character building in tranquil setting. Lovely flagstones and roof beams. Tastefully equipped bedrooms and bathrooms. Discreet capable staff. Proper full breakfast.
Lovely old building with beautiful grounds. The cooked breakfast was very good. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay there again.
The TV was fixed very high up on the wall so it was a bit of a strain on the neck. There was only a shower, no bath.
the location way lovely the staff friendly and welcoming the food was great, so nice to eat there before going out. Much better than a 'carbon copy' chain hotel, enjoyed our stay.
more milk and coffee in room. small things only.
Breakfast was nice
The owners were frosty, very tired dated and dirty.the so called wardrobe damp and mouldy.
It was a great place in a great location we had an amazing time the hotel the grounds the food and the staff were all excellent, Will be booking there again well worth it.
The room was very large, comfortable and clean. Food was excellant and worth every penny and can't wait to return and try different food options. Owners were very warm and friendly.
Food was very nice if a little expensive, comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Clean sheets The breakfast waitress was very pleasant
Shower trickled out the water Leaking sink. Paintwork Could have been cleaner maybe some updating on the paintwork could be done Some of the staff could be more welcoming and smile
Nice comfortable room. Good quality bed. Good food in the restaurant and cosy bar
The shower was terrible. No power at all and more of a dribble
This is a lovely place to stay, relaxed and chilled out in a lovely room... Jane Austen , had a lovely dinner, food and service was fab! Breakfast was very tasty. The owners were very pleasant and we will definitely return.
Food was outstanding! Log fires wonderful! Staff very pleasant and welcoming
Lots of stairs and no lift, but the building does not lend itself to having a lift as it is so beautifully old.
