This charming 17th century inn is full of historic character, furnished with oak paneling and boasting open fires and flagstone floors. Comfortable bedrooms combine traditional style with modern facilities. The restaurant and lounge are attractively decorated, and meals can also be taken in the bar. Located in 3 acres of land on the edge of the Badminton Estate, between highways M4 and M5, this cozy little hotel with a rich history is close to Bath, Bristol and the Cotswolds. Hotel Rooms: 11

The location was beautiful, set in the countryside and very easy to find. The room was beautiful, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was fab with a lovely corner bath, providing little bottles of toiletries and plenty of towels. The hotel has a little bar,a restaraunt and lovely beer/tea gardens. The receptionist was not friendly, and very nosey.Within 5 minutes of checking in she asked me and my auntie if we were partners and questioned us on why we didnt find a hotel in the area we had driven from which didnt really promote custom.

We were looking for a hotel that wasn't offering anything too extravagant for New Year's Eve and this fitted the bill. The bar was very welcoming and well priced. The huge log fire made it very comfortable. The room itself was spotless and also very comfortable. We chose a Superior Room and this was spacious with a large en-suite bathroom. An additional heater was put in the room without us asking for it, to make sure that it was warm enough, but there needn't have been anything to worry about as it was very warm. Dinner was taken in the restaurant, but we could have had the same menu in the bar if we had wanted. The varied choices and fresh local produce were wonderful and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Breakfast the following morning was ideal and offered a wide choice again. The water system is very loud and each flush of the toilet caused a major disruption! The Restaurant could have been presented in a more sophisticated way. The rustic tables are fine for breakfast, but for a New Year's Eve dinner it would have been better to have had tablecloths and 'silver service' presentation.

Very warm and homely feel to the hotel with a fantastic open fire and a great bar area. Good menu selection and great food. The TV remote didn't work!

A very comfortable and welcoming place to stay.It was the kind of hotel I like to imagine at different times of the year ie. The setting and location in the different seasons.I Certainly hope I shall go there again and I would recommend it to other people.

We were a little disappointed. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming on arrival. However, the rooms we were given were very cold and the bed in the ground floor room felt damp. The bed was most uncomfortable and was in fact just a 'hideaway' bed that folds away. The bathroom was freezing and the shower not much warmer! We were provided with an electric heater which did help a little. The wardrobes had not been cleaned properly, there were dead spiders and an item of clothing from the last occupants still in there. The bar area was very pleasant and they very happily provided some late night drinks on our return from our party. Breakfast was pleasant, adequate but a little greasy for my liking. All in all, a beautiful location, pleasant staff, but more attention is needed in the rooms.

A very pleasant 2 nights at Bodkin. Although very busy, the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is set in a lovely area, and was an ideal base for our trip to Bath. Our room was comfortable and had all the facilities we required, but best of all was the superb food! Compliments to the Chef and everyone else at Bodkin.

Good Chef, really good food. Friendly owner. Spacious Rooms. Could improve on space in the bar area. When more of the rooms are occupied it can be more difficult to get a table.

The bar area was really nice with good food & service. The rooms were nice & the reception staff very friendly. The heating wasn't working so the room was chilly & there was no hot water for a bath or shower in one of the rooms I booked as it didn't have a power shower.

A relaxed approach to our stay and requirements Twin bedded room but the beds were lump/bumpy and creaked badly. On recommending this hotel, which we would, we would suggest people check the beds.

This B&B Hotel was a real highlight of our trip to the UK. Set on landscaped family friendly grounds in beautifull countryside it has great hosts, food, drink, rooms and breakfasts. The surrounding woodlands almost have faeries and elves peering out from behind every bush. The rooms are quiet, spacious, & tastefully themed with classic English women authers with novels in each room to read. Plus free WiFi. We liked it so much we stayed there again on our way back north. Thanks Don and staff from your Aussie guests on 9th & 14th Apr. Was a bit tricky to find at our first attempt- its actually on a main A road but we took Badminton turnoff by mistake about 200m before. Once located all is fine with oodles of off-road secure parking
