location within central london
very tired hotel
Excellent value for money. Location spot on. Room facilities very good (Microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge). Paid for single room but ended up in much better room at no extra cost. Staff friendly and helpful.
Just in need of a bit of TLC and some redecoration, although it did look like this may already be in progress. Some soft furnishings would make the rooms and corridors quieter and echo less.
Perfect location if you get to London by car from west or north-/south-west
The hotel is very dirty. The stairs haven't been hoovered for a very long time. Some of us didn't take a shower because the bath was very dirty with traces from previous guests. They didn't even empty the frige, which still contained the rubbish from previous guests.
Location. Size of room and bathroom Full English breakfast included. Friendly staff. Pricey in relation to other cities but very reasonable for London.
No problems to report.
The room had a microwave, a stove and a fridge and the bed was nice and comfortable. Organisationally everything worked out well and the staff was always helpful and polite.
Everything was slightly shabby. One light bulb didn't work, the door got stuck easily and some of the glasses in the room were dirty.
It is close to Earls Court Tube Station
It was unclean, there were no signs anywhere - i walked straight past the lift without noticing and actually walked into an unused entrance hall filled with dusty lamp shades whilst trying to find reception on the morning we left. The wifi didnt work outside of reception (if i doesnt work, dont advertise as having it)! We had no hot water whilst we were there and when we asked reception why not, he said there was a problem at 05.00 that morning - in my opinion, as having 24 hour reception, they should have slipped this information and apologies under the doors. The receptionist didnt care, didnt think it was unacceptable and didnt apologise which is unforgivable. They couldnt have made a worse impression and honestly couldnt have tried less to make our stay acceptable let alone enjoyable. I've stayed in better £5 a night hostels!
Really great people at the hotel. Always helpful. Happy to talk to you. I felt like I was staying with friends. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Earls Court Exhibition Centre - just a short walk away. Added bonus for me was the gorgeous Nimrod.
The only thing this place has going for it is the location.
Where do I start? Maybe the fact that breakfast finished twenty minutes before the time and we were refused food? Maybe the fact that when we went to check out (and complain), we had to wait 10-15 minutes for anyone to show up. Maybe the fact that breakfast was very sparse in general; no cereal either day, orange juice ran out the first (an hour before!), disgusting tinned fruit salad. Yes the location is good. But I've stayed in better hostels, in private rooms, and more central, for a third of the price of this. Avoid avoid avoid!
Room was very very very very dirty, smelling very very very very bad, "bathroom" was very very very very dirty and with very very very very bad smell. The water in toilet was BLUE with terrible smell. The toilet got clogged and the guy from the reception said he will do something about it but when we came back everything was still on the same place making the already terrible smell in the room even worse. Please don't visit this hotel, the location is the only good thing but it is so so awful you will feel degraded as a human being spending a even one night in it. There is at least 10 more hotels in the same street. Looking back from this point I would pay 100% higher price just to avoid this dump.
Location was close to Earls Court and West Brompton tube stations
The place looked like it hadn't been touched for fifty years. It is the most run down hotel I've ever stayed in. Reception staff were rarely available, abrupt and poorly dressed. One guy even bought his Chinese meal to the desk as I was waiting. There was an awful smell of sewage in my room. I didn't even go for breakfast as I was so desperate to leave.
Location excellent, with one block walk to the underground Very good wi-fi, though it only worked until midnight all the 6 nights I stayed there.
Paper-thin walls Standards of cleanliness left a lot to be desired
Comfortable beds, nice white bed covers, good WiFi, nice breakfast, nice area.
A few things didn't work: remote control (but was rectified), both lamps didn't appear to work one was ripped at bottom, fridge was on but was not even cold inside, and 1 mug and knife was still dirty, and it was very hot through the night, and wasn't even asked if we'd had a pleasant stay when paying.
Great location, staff very helpful, old building but clean, good tv and Wifi and beautiful breakfast. Will definitely stay again.
Close to the tube station, and fairly close to the Heathrow airport. It felt like a safe neighborhood.
The bed and pillows were kind of hard. The room above me needed a carpet, because I could hear them walking around and talking through the floor/ceiling. It wasn't a big problem until they came in at 2 am.
floor a bit dirty and mattress lumpy
Friendly and helpful staff, and good full English breakfast & great location fot tube and Stamford Bridge
Bed very uncomfortable, and next doors dog barking all night
- The location is v favourable, very good. - Good value for money. - Beds are v well prepared.
- PLEASE kindly wash the covers of other furniture than beds / curtains etc... Hotel requires a better cleaning of rooms. Depends on the room, but the third floor definitely needs improvement. - The after-smell of tobacco in the reception (evening) and breakfast place was v strong; in the first room I got, it was unbearable - I was told by the staff I am making things up. Finally, after many efforts, I was allowed to change it.
Nice staff, daily English breakfast, refrigerator and cook with some kitchenware in the room and the price was less expensive compare to other hotels
The room was small, no enough space to move comfortably and not all of TV channels were working
near metro and nice receptionist
The accommodation is too expensive for such hotel. Non functional toilets and bath. small room and reception is poor. Not worth even half the price.
Good room facilities. Friendly staff.
the en suite toilet bowl could have done with a good clean.
The location was very good , very good for connection for tube. the breakfast was simple but liked the fact that it was served to you freshly prepared with egg and toast made as per your choice. tea coffee machine , micro and the fridge helped.
the bathroom was cramped and little things in the upkeep, like old used soaps from previous people still not cleared from the bathrooms. shower had inconsistent water temp. too hot or too cold. minor kinks you can live with but will be better if fixed.
Cooked Breakfast Price Kitchenette in room
Thin walls Needs some updating
Proximity to the City
Double bed against the wall! Bed couldn't be made properly. Climbing over each other to get out. No water coming out of hot water tap in bathroom. No plugs in either sink. No ventilation in tiniest bathroom ever util asked for it to be connected. TV on floor, no reading lamps, one out of 3 globes working in main light fitting. Window wouldn't stay open. We used a book to prop it up for some fresh air! Very disappointing for the price. Our last stay in the Uk after spending 6 weeks at many hotels, and the smallest and most uncomfortable. Breakfast room too small also. We ate out.
Reception staff very polite.
Room very poor, needs cleaning and whilst budget this was not acceptable.
Location is great being only 250 metres from tube station. Wifi is excellent Good hot shower Spencer on reception
Double bed against wall Room very small Dirty toilet bowl No shower floor mats Meagre continental breakfast selection Tv mounted on low table 40 cms off floor
