Score from 377 reviews Very good
The scenery was really good and pleasant.
To expensive for drinks. Also have to go outside to go to function suite. Not ideal when raining.
Room was small but cosy! Facilities good! Bathroom good! Staff friendly!
Nothing negative to add
Comfy bed, staff good and nice location
Breakfast service was poor, food and crockery not available and had to repeatedly ask for it
the building was historical
found meal expensive other then that are stay was good
Evening meal and breakfast where both good. Pool is great much bigger than most hotel pools.
Main hallway - needs total makeover what a terrible carpet and my room was dated. Staff not the most dynamic, pleasant enough but think they lack the training and guidance given to other chain hotels.
Good leisure club. Nice grounds.
A little too far to walk to town centre. A bit dated decor.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Good breakfast, dining area is comfortable, nice atmosphere good layout of tables and kept very clean.
Bedroom pillows were uncomfortable
This hotel was recommended to us and it lived up to the recommendation 100%. Will definitely be returning again.
The location was good, the leisure club facilities were excellent and free to use..room was nice size very clean
Quiet. Good Breakfast. Staff friendly and efficient. Weekday breakfast hours.
Nice location, lovely grounds, breakfast a treat, facilities in the room ideal, great sleep, heavy curtains. 3rd visit be back again
Other guests struggle at closing doors and forget there not at home!!
Rooms are quite spacious and clean for a 3 star hotel. Grounds are perfect for walking about.
Bar staff need to be more friendly and smile. It's a bar so I expected better service.
Restaurant were excellent smiled and seemed genuinely interested in you as customer.
Front desk staff talked very quickly about room breakfast times etc didn't take time to see if I got everything that was said. Seemed pretty disinterested really!
Very helpful staff
The outside space is lovely
The rooms are so out dated 1986 came to mind like walking back in time pine furniture and art ex ceilings .The room was sparce .Slipped on the shiny bathroom floor Disappointed as this was a weekend away .For the price I was expecting more. The bar was very limited on choice for alcoholic beverages too
Excellent room, great service and a good filling breakfast. Definitely recommend!
Great Hotel.Lovely location.Staff very helpful.Large bedroom
The grounds were great for the grandchildren enjoyed the restaurant
Our room cramped, my daughters was great
Got a great deal through Booking.com. The staff are very friendly
Overrated, a bit pretentious. Wi-fi did not work. Squishy room, floor into the bathroom was wet - renovations I think.
The hotel & grounds are currently being refurbished. What has been completed seems to be to a very high standard and I am sure when it is finished it will look great.
Having eaten here on several occasions in the past I was very disappointed with the two meals my wife and I ate here this weekend . Fairly small things like the lack of kidney beans in a chilli con carne and an anemic battered haddock, the quality of the sausages in the "Lancastrian breakfast" also left something to be desired. Service at breakfast was very poor, there seemed to be sufficient very young staff but no supervision, which meant long delays between ordering and receiving our coffee, meals etc.
Attentive staff, courteous, professional good clean rooms. exceptional breakfast, quality!!
No faults, good stay
The property was quiet in its own grounds and very picturesque close to Bury town centre for evening meals and cinema. Leisure facilities fantastic. Bargain price
We had to chose between a day out or using the pool at the weekend as kids only allowed in till 5pm even at the weekend. You do need a car or taxi to get to town.
What an amazing building/grounds, for 49 Pound I didn't expect much but it was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend requesting ROOM 5 as it's the best in the hotel! It was like the honeymoon suite with a four poster bed, lovely big bay window over looking the lake... I can't thank the hotel enough for actually reading my request for a romantic room for my partner's birthday. The leisure/spa facilities are to DIE FOR and are worth a trip just for those! It's a must see. I will definitely be visiting again and again
