Was in the room at the bottom of the stairs so it was very noisy in the morning. The cleaning staff also talked at the bottom of the stairs outside the room from early in the morning and were noisy and discussing things about other customers which was not appropriate or nice to hear
Staff very good, gym, spa and pool great. Good position. Walked into Bury, 30mins. Taxi back £5.50 Roomspacious clean and comfartable.
Staff very nice
Pillows very hard and the breakfast finishes to early morning
No shelf space in the bathrooms
Enjoyed the whole experience of staying at the hotel. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly which helped us feel relaxed through out our stay. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed which was excellent. Couldn't believe that breakfast was included in our stay so the price was extremely good value. We used the spa twice which was very peaceful and welcoming. A really enjoyable stay which was much needed after a long indulgent christmas
There was nothing to dislike about the hotel or facilities.
Comfortable rooms Spa...really good...got 2 pools, 1 for adults only and 1 for children which was warm
The staff were very good and the general standards of the hotel are great value for money. . . .The food at breakfast was very good quality and selection, the waitress' are very polite and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was great, and reasonably priced . , Free Wi-Fi too . . . .
Whenever I am in Bury to visit family I always stay at the Bolholt. Staff are very friendly and the service is good. Lovely Lancastrian Breakfast - including scrummy local Bury Black Pudding and evening meals are also great value and equally delicious. Looking forward to next visit. The hotel has it's own leisure complex - I've not used it, but it's great it's there!
Some rooms are better than others - but you get that anywhere.
The staff were friendly and helpful to a point.
There was no heating in our room on the coldest night of the year. A staff member came to bleed the radiators but nothing hap.pened so he brought us a fan heater which was noisy and fairly ineffective. Breakfast was cold and unappetising served on cold plates in an un heated room.
Loved the hotel, will definitely make this our base when we come up north, handy for Burnley, Blackpool and Todmorden, Bury is a Great place for shopping and eating, hotel facilities are excellent, leisure pool/area second to none, exceeded my expectations
Swimming pool, sauna, clean hotel, friendly staff.
actually everything was fine. Just a little bit cold in our room (56), but we were not sitting inside, all time were spending in spa. And on sleep time this was not disturbing us as very warm duvet. I was awaking with my fresh face, no bags under my eyes))))
Thin bedroom walls: other guests could be clearly heard heard moving about.
The location was fine for the venue we had to go to ,which is why we chose here. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful as we had to get them to bleed the radiators to get the heat through them in our room to give us heat.
The dining room was cold and so was the breakfast this morning .We have stayed in other hotels and the breakfast has always been fine .The plates were cold and the choice was limited .The rooms were not easy to access no lift and narrow stairway and passage way .
peaceful and well maintained grounds. spacious and well presented rooms. excellent breakfast and helpful, polite and welcoming staff.
nothing not to like
Staff very nice and helpful, especially with my husband who was temporarily disabled/ Spa, swimming pools, sauna, fitness very nice and clean. Fabulous surroundings
Short distance between the hotel and the venue for the xmas party
Floors seemed very thin. We could hear the couple above us in and out of their room; showering at bizarre times of the night - all resulting in a poor nights sleep.
I took my elderly mum for an outing on the East lancs Railway and this hotel was near enough for us to get there and back easily by taxi. The room we had was very big with great lighting , important as my mum has poor eyesight. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Room was warm and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good.
To be honest, not much.
Uncomfortable beds and pillows, comparatively expensive add on breakfast
The leisure facilities are excellent. Their inclusion in the room rate makes this a very reasonable price.
The room decor needs some updating, especially in the bathroom.
The bar staff were especially pleasant with the lady behind the bar having worked there for 12 years and was very chatty welcoming
It just looked a "little bit" dated.
A lot of hotel for your money. Helpful staff. Clean room. Good value breakfast.
Its only a small gripe, but the decor could do with a general touch up in the public areas... but like I say, not a big deal.
layout of drip
noise of constant dripping of water externally, disturbed nights sleep also room was too warm.Constant banging of doors by other residents.poor sound insulation of building.
Did nt like The Bolholt .!!!.. the room smelt, staff so very unprofessional ... need training in customer approach & conversation . Well to answer correctly would be good ..
Exceptional value for money, great room, very friendly staff, brilliant swimming pool and a five star breakfast
Spa/leisure facilities very good. Staff helpful. Room was warm and clean
Internal decor looking a little tired. Felt a little like an older style retirement home.
