Rooms are quite spacious and clean for a 3 star hotel. Grounds are perfect for walking about.
Bar staff need to be more friendly and smile. It's a bar so I expected better service.
Restaurant were excellent smiled and seemed genuinely interested in you as customer.
Front desk staff talked very quickly about room breakfast times etc didn't take time to see if I got everything that was said. Seemed pretty disinterested really!
Very helpful staff
The outside space is lovely
The rooms are so out dated 1986 came to mind like walking back in time pine furniture and art ex ceilings .The room was sparce .Slipped on the shiny bathroom floor Disappointed as this was a weekend away .For the price I was expecting more. The bar was very limited on choice for alcoholic beverages too
Excellent room, great service and a good filling breakfast. Definitely recommend!
Great Hotel.Lovely location.Staff very helpful.Large bedroom
The grounds were great for the grandchildren enjoyed the restaurant
Our room cramped, my daughters was great
Attentive staff, courteous, professional good clean rooms. exceptional breakfast, quality!!
No faults, good stay
The property was quiet in its own grounds and very picturesque close to Bury town centre for evening meals and cinema. Leisure facilities fantastic. Bargain price
We had to chose between a day out or using the pool at the weekend as kids only allowed in till 5pm even at the weekend. You do need a car or taxi to get to town.
Location and view of Holcolm Hill Tower. Access to buses and moor walks and especially Nangraves Rd . And lovely pubs.
We had the full English breakfast and it was cold
No window to look out of from my room
We'll presented cooked breakfast
The carpet in the corridor was very old
Out of the way, quiet, convenient location.
No staff on bar until I mentioned it at reception.
The facilities are fairly nice and the food was good
Better customer service and more professional customer care. Not really explained anything such as wifi setting up a tab etc.
Old noisy building
The reception staff were very helpful and always made you fell welcomed. When booking on line asked for a room with easy access to the grounds as we had our two dogs with us. This must have been veiwed and acted on as our room was was opposite the door to the grounds, it was very convenient. The bedroom cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. We also liked using the pool, spar and gym facilities these where very good. We have stayed here before and would stay again.
The breakfast on the Sunday was a shambles, we had to wait a long time for our coffees which came in a teapot and a hotwater jug not what you would expect. There where many tables that had not been cleared with stacks of pots on them.
Pool and gym was good and the restaurant food was good.
Room was dirty with dead flies on bathroom window, not just a few but lots!!! The restaurant was run by a lady who called everyone Love - hate that! And the waitresses were young girls who needed reminding to bring the wine and sugar for the coffee!! The standards let the place down.
young stall were friendly but not well trained
long walk from main hotel to leisure complex & no provision for elderly & disabled travellers. Our ground floor room was very noisy & there was a leak in the bathroom on arrival. Not impressed with lukewarm breakfast buffet which was not kept fully stocked up..
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room Our friends who stayed in the room next to us had human sick come up through the plug hole when they used the shower. Completely unacceptable.
I liked the large family room, which had space for the young children to not hurt themselves. Very comfy beds and the excellent leisure club
I didn't like the shower, and the shower glass was a little dangerous.
Most of the customer facing staff were young (teens and Twenties) They were friendly and helpful. But there was a lack of supervision and staff seamed to disappear unless summoned. This was so different to the best western in wells, where staff were in attendance at all times in public rooms, ready to be of service.
Leisure facilities were excellent.
Breakfast area was over crowded, service slow due to being very busy and shortage of Bury black pudding for possibly the same reason.
Clean comfortable rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff
Rooms could do with modernising
The staff were really friendly and tried to help. The breakfast was really nice and the staff were very attentive. Where the renovations have been done it looks great.
The hotel is tired and is undergoing refurbishment, the room was a good size but the shower didn't work and the bathroom window would not open. No fan in bathroom so very hot and stuffy. We were offered another room but on a two day stay you don't need the hassle of moving.
