Score from 67 reviews Fabulous
Location excellent. Young man on reception friendly and very efficient. Breakfast delicious. Room large and relaxing with everything supplied. All in all a very comfortable overnight stay and looking forward to going back once renovations and extension complete.
Nothing to dislike
Friendly helpful staff. Views over Linlithgow from the hotel.
Ticked all our boxes.
To be told that the Hotel was closing this month for total refurbishment .
In the week before our visit ,I rang & & asked fo a taxi booking for use during our stay, " check on arrival ". On arrival , it was a Marie Celeste time . The Hotel was deserted of guests & staff , a note on the reception desk had telephone No & to ring for help .Help arrived ,no taxi booked & no record of my phone call & after booking in , we were given a room that we had not booked for , this was changed .The new room was adequate , but the toilet had loose seat & would not flush properly. The shower bath was not older person friendly . There were no hand rails on part of the twisting stair case, to the upper floors .We only saw 3 regular members of staff , the gentleman on reception , the lady in charge of the dining room , & a cleaner lady . There was only one other person staying during the first 2 days of our stay , another couple appeared very briefly on day 3
Great sized room.
No food on site in an evening.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Comfortable well appointed rooms.
No service after entering at 10pm
Unfortunately the Bonsyde was the biggest disappointment we had during our last stay in Scotland. There is a massive difference from what is advertized and what you find in reality. The first welcome you get consist of rotten frying oil. The rooms are spacious but appeared as untidy. Linen was not ironed at gave us the impression that they were not changed when the previous guest has left. The bathroom and is smell is disgusting. Fungus in the shower, an awful smell from the toilet and the sink was as well not clean cause hair was found. After exploring of those topics we canceld our stay there.
The location of this hotel is superb with stunning views. Bed was comfortable.
The hotel is in a very poor state of repair and is in need of a massive refurbishment!!! The only 2 members of staff we saw were polite and helpful but it was over-priced for the decor etc. The restaurant also has been closed due to refurbishment
Beautiful setting in the country overlooking Linlithgow. Spacious room.
Mattress sagged horribly.
Friendly & helpful staff, location, exterior, interior, small number of rooms, size of rooms
slow breakfast service
Reception staff member. Very polite and welcoming. Room was clean and tidy.
Beds were a disaster. On One base, half of it had collapsed; disappointed to say the least. Noisy when you moved on the bed. Floorboards creaked and window was seized.
