The room was fantastic. I ordered breakfast to the room but it did not arrive. I had to go and ask for it. I said I was allergic to eggs so one had to be NO eggs but it arrived with an egg so I could not eat it.

Very lovely hotel, loads of period character, excellent large and clean room, staff very friendly and helpful, lovely views, full scottish breakfast very tasty, would definately stay here again and very good value for money, will come back for a drink and a meal when the full restaurant is re-opened Unfortunately the full restaurant menu was not available during our stay as the hotel is going to be undergoing a refurbishment, but full breakfast and hot bar snacks where all very tasty, only other negative was it was a shame that WiFi is not avilable in the rooms, only bar and reception areas

The staff, especially and mainly, Jerry were very efficient and friendly. My room was gorgeous and also lovely and warm despite the bitterly cold weather. Liked the breakfast. Views from all rooms were fantastic. Very beautiful in the snow. Overall - extremely good. As the restaurant was closed - there could have been a room reduction to compensate - didn't notice this fact until the night before we arrived. A very beautiful hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for Jerry - he is an asset to your hotel. Sadly, the restaurant was closed and we had to eat out in Linlithgow (very good) but sorry we missed the haute cuisine. We always had to travel out by taxi into Linlithgow.

couldn't find anything to dislike, it will now be the first place i try to book when we go home to visit, rooms lovely, cooked breakfast was one of the best i have had. We knew when we booked that the restuarant was closed for refurbishment, but the amount of people that told us that the food is fantastic that the next visit we make i hope the restuarant is open. Can't fault the place at all.

The location was quiet, but accessible. The room and facilities were acceptable for a budget tarrif hotel. The breakfast was good. The room despite having a heater was not comfortable from a temperature aspect.

The family room was very well equipped and very comfortable. The one member of staff who seemed to be doing everything was extremely helpful. It was quite cold throughout the hotel at all times with the 'dining room' being uncomfortably cold. Very disappointed to find the restaurant closed for the season...this should have been mentioned during the booking.

Hotel is in countryside. Beautiful view. All the staff, especially the manager is very friendly. Excellent food too. Really recommend the hotel to all. Looking forward to stay at the same place in my future visits to Edinburgh. I recommend them to add a spa.

A small quiet hotel with a very large room, freeview TV and free wifi internet. Good breakfast and a good evening meal. A bit off the "beaten track". I am glad I had my sat nav to find it. Only a shower room.

The views were spectacular and the room size was large with lots of closet, drawer space. I am 5'6" and weight 190 lbs. Had to squeeze sideways through the opening to the shower area. If anyone was larger than me, they wouldn't be having a shower in this room.
