The feel of the hotel when you walk in - makes you feel relaxed and pampered. The views from all windows are wonderful - sitting in bed looking at the view of the lake every morning was heaven. I ate far too much gorgeous food.

Stayed in a 'select-plus' room. Hotel is in a great location, with patio doors overlooking Lake Windermere (if you upgrade your room). Only 5 minutes drive from Bowness-On-Windermere, which I believe to be the best town in The Lakes by far. Facilities are good, breakfast was lovely, very attentive staff in the restaurant, the bar and patio area are nice to sit and relax. The room was of a reasonable standard, however, the bathroom was a big let-down. I've stayed at hostels with nicer bathrooms. Very old. Mould on the tiles/ around the bath. Cheap suite. The lighting was also terrible in the bathroom, 1 green-tinged, flickering energy saver light. If you don't mind about the bathroom, the rest of the room was nice enough, if not a little dated, but clean enough. I'd recommend upgrading to get a newly refurb'd room.

Views from the room, room was clean The fact that you can't go into the proper restaurant without dress shoes and trousers and we weren't informed of this before we travelled. You mainly pay for the view. Outside if the hotel a bit worn at the back.

Great value for money, amazing views from room and hotel, lovely modern homely feel rooms, amazingly comfy bed and the shower was to die for. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Nothing we didn't like at all

Staff were very good. Food very good. We were happy with the accomodation, and excellent views plus nice gardens to stroll in. Hotel first class, but the location not so good (can't be helped). Parking space could be a problem returning at night.

Location with stunning views. Expensive dinner menu but ok light meal in bar. The hotel is a little "tired" and new carpets / decor would not go amiss.

The Food was excellent. Room was small but comfy. A lot of stairs. There was a smell of damp in some areas of the hotel. The hotel in some areas could do with being decorated.

Excellent location and views. Good base for exp;loring the Lakes. Decking and table & chairs oiutside room with patio door. Restaurant offered a range of half bottles of quality wines at reasonable prices. Happy to return again Nothing really to take issue with. We were aware from research about loc ation and stairs/ steps and no lift.

An excellent choice of hotel to get away from it all and relax. Views of the lake were amazing, especially those from the bar area and balcony. We had a lovely spacious room with four poster bed and patio overlooking the lake. Due to price from booking.com our stay was excellent value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break here and would definitely like to return again.

The food in the restaurant was first class, the service from the attentive staff was excellent! Rooms where clean as was the whole hotel. Plenty of parking round the rear of the hotel but limited parking at the front! Although very clean, it could do with a lick of paint, no sky, not for the elderly! My father in law is 82 and so could not go down to the jetty on the lake. This is only a minor compaint though! None of the above would put me off from going again. Parking at the front of the hotel should be for disabled only!!
