Scenic Location and overall view were nice!...But that's about it, I'm afraid...! Quite Location. Only 4 miles from Bowness...
Too Expensive for the state of the rooms/corridors/ and other communal areas. Room too smelly from drains (although offered alternative room and accepted offer where the room was better) No Lift to the downstairs rooms...meaning have to carry luggage for 2 fly's of stairs... NO WIFI in the Rooms but only near Foyer/Reception(...believe it or not no WI-FI in the rooms...what hotel is this ...?? !! Even 2-star hotels in the middle of nowhere, have Wi-fi in the rooms!)
Spa Bath Lovely views excellent food Friendly staff
Drinks expensive. Central heating very noisy during the night. Carpet in the room looked a little tired and a stain on the bedsheets.
Quiet location off the main road but close enough to be sociable. Pool was a nice size. Free parking and breakfast.
Pool could of been a little warmer. Bottom floor rooms look onto a slightly snappy looking swimming pool roof
All the flights of stairs from car park to reception had to walk up ramp with suitcases because we could not park outside to unload
The hotel had a lovely setting right next to lake the room view was amazing and the garden grounds with the jetty at the bottom where you can go to take some lovely photographs Dinner was good and presentation was lovely
Could do with a coat of paint to freshen up looks a bit tired and worn carpets Breakfast was a disappointment it was buffet style but felt it wasn't hot enough
Pool changing rooms dirty and lockers rusty with no locks. Generally tired and in need of refurbishment
pool restaurant bar area entertainment
room was on road very noisy, but would know for next time to ask for room with lake view
Excellent facilities, food was excellent, stay was great value for money and amazing scenery.
Hotel provided us with free champagne for my partners 30th birthday. Very generous gesture.
Food was lovely Service excellent Superb location
Great to relax in the lounge overlooking the lake. First night we were upgraded to a large premier plus room with lake view and large bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk in shower which was very nice. Superb meal on Saturday night in their restaurant. Must have a very good chef.
On our second night we had to move to a standard room which was rather small compared to the room we had the night before but adequate. Most of the hotel bedrooms are built on a terraced slope down to the lake. Although the views are good be prepared for multiple flights of stairs back to the main building as there is no lift. There is a car park at the rear but the front entrance is very close to a busy fast road so parking there is tricky.
Views of Lake from Restaurant Views of Lake from Bar Views of Lake from Bedroom Window Lovely warm swimming pool with loungers Friendly & welcoming staff Great breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit every morning
Not really a criticism but as we don't like 3 or 5 course meals, the bar menu was a little limited. We would have eaten in the bar every night had there been a little more choice, or in the restaurant if we could have had a single course. On the plus side the chicken caesar salad & tuna crunch sandwich & chips were lovely! If you have mobility issues, choose another hotel, there are lots of steps to your room, your car, the pool etc - not a problem for us yet though!
We upgraded our room to then get upgraded to the went worth suite - Id pay the money to to stay in that suite again, a lovely experience.
Lovely location and views. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
Despite advertising Wifi in public areas, it did not work at all. All guests were having the same problem. I queried this with the staff and they said that nothing could be done. We found this troublesome as we were intending to plan our walks and trips out using the internet and were unable to do so.
Friendly, efficient staff. Clean, well appointed room with fantastic view. Huge and very comfortable bed. Excellent food, both breakfast and 5 course evening meal.
Some of the public areas (e.g.entrance up from carpark and gentlemen's toilet) and the exterior fabric of the building are a little 'tired'.
A lovely hotel staff were pleasant room was nice and clean , dining room and the views were amazing the breakfast was really good . All in all very good would highly recommend
The lounge and dining room were lovely. The food was brilliant.
The friendliness of staff varied. Some were great and couldn't have tried harder, others really needed to try harder. Everywhefrt you looked there were really grubby parts. Damp in some ceilings, very worn wooden surrounds, walls that may have been cream at one point but were all scuffed. Not what I was expecting
Pool was very good , clean and staff friendly
Excellent location, room on lake side very quiet. Friendly staff, decent sized car park, spacious lounge & bar area, nice swimming pool and good food.
Pool excellent, but changing facilities in desperate need of makeover. No robes provided.
Had a lovely stay. Food great, staff very friendly. Room was really spacious and clean with balcony and view of the lake. Swimming pool lovely too.
Room great but needed updating and it had an earthy smell about it. Second night family in room above making lots of noise till late. Not sure if there was one but guests would benefit from shuttle bus into Bowness.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful finding out where the nearest bonfire was and gave us directions. Facilities were very good, pool especially but does need some tlc to fix pool other than tape. Hotel very cosy and what would be expected to suit the lakes setting.
The European female staff in the restaurant were very rude at breakfast, every time something ran out or they were asked for something by us or other visitors their response was rude and short. Small step in room 90 needs repairing, caught my foot as we entered room and cut open. When we told reception they were apologetic and helped to cover over sharp part with tape whilst it could be fixed after we have left.
Marvellous views. Room was very nice with a lovely comfortable bed. However, the room could have looked even better if the stains on the carpet had been shampooed!! Breakfast in the hotel was very good but you had to pay extra for scrambled egg!
The restaurant was overpriced which resulted in us eating main meals out. We thought that the hotel was looking a little "tired" and in need of updating. In particular the carpet/decor on the staircase from car park. Not a good "first impression when entering he hotel.
Views are lovely breakfast was really nice. Staff at reception and hk very friendly and let us look at 2 rooms before we checked in. Swimming pool lovely too.
Breakfast staff a bit abrupt when asked for toast. Also noticed she was the same with a few other guest. Corridors a little tired and if you have walking issues don't have a single digit room number there is a lot of stairs no lift! But the views are worth the walk.
The room was great and was a very good size with onsuite bathroom with wirlpool bath room was very clean and tidy and we also had a balcony over looking lake windermere the views were stunning if me and my girlfriend come back we would gladly stay at the beach hill hotel again
Public areas of the building may need tidying up like carpets and fixtures and cobwebs on curtains but its the lake district what do you expect with wilderness all around but did not disrupt my stay in any way nessecery
nice location,excellent food comfortable room
Polish staff a little slow maybe a language barrier, room quite noisey from adjoining rooms
