1. lake view 2. mushroom in breakfast
1. it's really far from village center, the last bus back to hotel from bowness is 6pm, means you have to be back very early if you don't have a car 2. the mobile cover is very bad in hotel area 3. the wifi connection in lobby is terrible, can't really connect it 4. the hotel and staff clearly don't have enough support to traveller without car, don't even have a latest bus timetable 5. lots of stairs, no elevator, be careful if you carry a suitcase
Food Service Spacious rooms
Room decoration poor. Old style TV picture quality awful. Stair carpets, lounge carpets and restaurant carpets badly worn. Badly needs a makeover. Tea coffee tray in room needs revamp. Really,Really Tired.
Everything, the hotel was very relaxing and all the staff were helpful and friendly, wish we had stayed longer
Fine dining at it's very best. The chef is outstanding and the restaurant staff charming efficient and knowledgeable.
Rooms and the hotel need some money some refurbishment which we understand will take place. However the views of the lake are wonderful.
Modern room with excellent views; courteous and helpful staff; efficient service at all times; very nice ambiance.
Very limited Wi-Fi, not available in room; dinner menu should have been more varied over period of stay (3 days). Very nice bathroom but very short of shelf space.
Location food views
Mens changing rooms near the pool no keys for lockers
Pool was great. Hotel bar and lounge very comfortable. Great location.
Breakfast was good, but bit disappointed with evening menu choice.
hotel was beautiful our room was wonderful wiv patio doors and a balcony facing the lake...lovely getaway
I liked the freedom the hotel and the stunning lake views, the direct lake access and the jettys. The room we stayed in was amazing over looking lake Windermere.
The location to Bowness, the lake view, the swimming pool, the food, comfortable beds
The hotel needs a lick of paint , mould on bedroom ceiling, could hear the residents in the bedroom above
No lift, lots of stairs No air conditioning in room
Location, impressive gardens and lakeside views. Outstanding food.
Common areas and exterior need minor redecoration.
Veggie options in restaurant limited and unimaginative.
Restaurant outstanding Beautifull terrace and views Bar and Pool outstsnding
lack of a lift
Availibility of bar food after 6.30pm. we had asked for the menus but did not realise that the bar menu stopped at 6.30pm. Staff only appeared interested in those who wish to dine in the restaurant. Staff unhelpful in advising alternatives for eating but taxi driver was very helpful. Will not be staying again
The facilities and decor in the room (we had a deluxe double sharing it with our 2 children) and the staff were fantastic.
The food in the restaurant was a little pricey and the decor in some of the communal areas was a little tired
no value for money
The location, the grounds are well kept and very quiet.
The rooms need updating, wallpaper shabby with stains ceilings in serious need of painting. Asked for a room change as the original was close to the fire escape and guests banging the door. shower cubicle very narrow. Could hear practically everything. Dinner overpriced not value for money, decided to eat in town. Suitable for car drivers. The hotel uses its location to draw guests. There are far better hotels closer to windermere.
Lovely quiet hotel and very relaxing
The pool was lovely with excellent hours to access it. Food gorgeous, staff very pleasant. Lovely lounging area.
It was a little noisy late at night where we were right at the end of the corridor maybe near the laundry room? But still a lovely stay.
We loved the location, staff were extremely helpful and pleasant at all times, the hotel food was excellent and the facilities were relaxing with spectacular views. Our bedroom was lovely with splendid views with all the facilities we required.
