the proprietor was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was full and hearty to start the day, just the location lets the hotel down, asthe centre is little run down in the evenng. Also ate at Italian in area very expensive for very little portions, unfortunately found the Toad pub after that on the seafront so if eating would recommend not to go in the centre. If possible book superior room , well worth and just like the description/ nothing regarding proprietor and value,

Look no further if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in Colwyn Bay. Eira keeps a beautiful home at Bryn Holcome - a large Edwardian house with beautiful tiled hallway - very welcoming. My double room was spacious and well equipped. The highest quality bed was luxuriously comfortable and made up with lovely cotton sheets. There was a very large bathroom for my own use (way too luxurious to be called an en suite) with a Victorian style free standing bath - and plenty of piping hot water. Bryn Holcombe is in the centre of things but also set back from the road (with parking) so it was quiet enough to sleep with the window open without being disturbed by noise. Breakfast was all you could wish for - muesli, fresh fruit, yoghurt followed by a full Welsh breakfast with the best mushrooms I have ever had! Would not hesitate to stay again. Very good value for money. Deserves its three stars. High hotel standard accommodation. And of course spotlessly clean and delightfully smoke-free.

The breakfast was the highlight! A good selection of fresh and bottled fruit, with cereals and yoghurt. The cooked breakfast is also great. I think that this is the best breakfast I've had at a B&B. I'd absolutely recommend this place to other travellers. We found the rooms to be a bit on the cool side, but it was a good temperature for sleeping.

The hotel had a lovely warm feel to it. Full of character with ample parking. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful, especially when our motor bike blew up. Th location is brilliant both for the main "a " road and the beach. A wide selection of items for breakfast, beautifully cooked. I well priced guest house, lovely friendly staff, beautiful rooms, would definately stay and will stay here again. Thank you

Great location. Very welcoming. Very quiet. Easy 10 min walk to seafront and good eating pub. Big difference in standard room I was in and the superior that my colleague had, so would definitely go for superior if stayed again

When we arrived, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, they gave us useful leaflets and information about what to do in Colwyn Bay and the surrounding areas. The room was better than we expected, with subsequent furnishings/decor providing a cosy feel! Breakfast was served at 9:00 am, the breakfast room was bright and airy and had a wide variety of fruit, yoghurt, cereal and juice. A full welsh breakfast, scrambled eggs and hot beverages were also available. The location was a 2 minute walk from the grocery store, a 5 minute walk from restaurants and an 8 minute walk from the beach. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought it was amazing value for the price we paid!

Charming hostess who cooks a very good breakfast. Our room was very tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The ensuite was also a very generous size with a good shower. The location was ideal for us as we wanted to spend a day in Conwy and also spend some time visiting the seaside towns in Colwyn Bay. A very enjoyable visit.

Very nice room and best breakfast I have had at a hotel or b&B. Best place I have stayed in Colwyn bay and I've tried a few. The lady serving breakfast was friendly but had a very loud voice and talked a lot which was not a nice way to start the day.

“We arrived rather late but were met by a smile and quick delivery to our room, which was appreciated. The proprietor showed us to the vast dvd library and suggested we helped ourselves. The room, in a beautiful house, although small was absolutely perfect and spotless. The bathroom was beautiful with everything pre-empt by the owners, they supplied us with everything for a wonderful stay including glasses and a wine opener, bath robes, alram clock, along with everything else you would expect from a 5+ b&B. The breakfasr room was laid out and ready for us to serve ourselves with the proprietor taking our order for a freshly cooked breakfast and copious amounts of tea. Good safe off road parking in a beautiful, quiet location. Remember to follow the written directions and not a sat-nav! ” Jacqueline, Vendres |

“The locatiion of this hotel is superb as it is on the beach front with only a short walk around the corner to the towns high street. Decour and fittings are all in good modern taste with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The staff are all polite, well presented and helpful. In particular, i found the young lady receptionist a credit to the establishment. My room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning had the usual choice of full english, toast and cereals.” Richard, Biggleswade |
