The food, staff and general areas in the hotel were great. The room was tiny, badly kept, with very old decor and features. Worse than your standard Holiday Inn. |

Friendly,helpful staff who gave us all the information we needed to get around Newcastle. The Hotel was clean,comfortable and warm,the latter being important as we were there as winter hit Newcastle! |

The surrounding areas - Jesmond - is good. Welcoming reception, clean hotel, nice breakfast & nice bar Only negative was housekeeping knocking on room door at 9.05am on a saturday morning & waking us up! Then a maintenance man at 9.15am on the same day. Do not disturb signs for the doors would be good |

staff were friendly and found an alternative room for us to get ready in when we arrived prior to our check in time and our room wasn't ready. Rooms in the new section were quite small but absolutely fine for an overnight stay. Good breakfast. |

Excellent position for city. Reservation smooth and got both rooms at the back as recommended.Very comfortable. Good breakfast. REcommended and would def stay again.Free internet. Room doors are very heavy and very noisy...especially during the night when people are returning!! |

Location was good. Room was clean. Staff on reception were welcoming and efficient. Free wi fi in the public areas of the hotel Bar staff were untrained and slow - 20 minutes to get two drinks in an empty bar mid afternoon. Did not even know how to book drinks to my room. Myself and guests kicked out of the bar at 11:30pm. No internet access in my room. Poor drainage in the shower - on the verge of overflowing. |

The hotel was both convenient for city centre and easy to get to, as well a.s offering good value for money. The girl serving breakfast was very efficient and very helpful, far beyond the call of duty |

Staff very friendly and helpful! I'm afraid the food in the restaurant was not very good or the lighting! If I stayed there again I would go out to eat. Did not have the breakfast as no time so cannot comment about that. |

The staff were helpful and friendly - rooms large warm and comfortable. Nice breakfasts Saturday night was horrible with partying on our corridor past 3 am. It spoilt our visit as tired and grumpy next day. Went home early. |

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at the Caledonian - each time it meets my requirements of safe, clean, friendly accommodation. I like the fact that it is bustling without being overrun by big crowds of riotous hen/stag parties like other hotels in the area that I've tried only slight problem was tuning of the TV - didn't receive all channels |
