This award-winning Victorian guesthouse offers stunning sea and harbor views, just a short walk from beach and center of town. The Collingdale is tastefully furnished and the comfortable guest lounge provides a nice relaxed atmosphere for reading, watching TV or enjoying the splendid scenery. The gallery dining room, displaying original paintings by local artists, serves freshly prepared and carefully presented home cooked cuisine using locally farmed produce as available. The dining room leads to the sun terrace overlooking the harbor, where you can relax with your morning coffee or a drink in the evening. Relax in the cozy bar, which has a good selection of beers, wines and spirits including malt whiskeys and fine brandies. Winners of 'Ilfracombe in Bloom' for several years running. The Collingdale was an extremely comfortable and clean hotel. Sharon- the proprietor was very friendly with good advice on what to see and do in Ilfracombe. The views were outstanding and it was lovely to be within a short walking distance of the harbour and all the lovely restaurants on offer. Our room was small but very comfortable and private with lovely crisp bedlinen and a huge bed. The en suite facilities were adequate and the view was stunning. Lots of extras such as tea making facilities and bottled water. It was a bonus to have a bar facility - very cosy and welcome after the walk back from the harbour. Breakfasts were superb with plenty of both hot and cold options. The full English was perfect and there was a lot of it too- no need for lunch!! A very lovely stay.

I was made to feel very welcome and my room, albeit very small, was exceptionally clean and the towels were fluffy and white (very important)! It is located within a short walk of just about everything in Ilfracombe and my room had great views of the harbour and sea beyond. I parked for free in the road immediately outside, so having no car park wasn't an issue. No wi-fi in rooms - signal was too weak.

The staff are welcoming and friendly. Everywhere is clean. The bed linen and towels are of good quality and always fresh. The breakfast is excellent along with the table service. The sea views are lovely to look out at. Your every need is catered for. We have been twice now to The Collingdale, it suits our requirements and we have enjoyed our stay. There is only street parking and sometimes it is busy and there is not always space to park.

We had a wonderful stay at The Collingdale. The guesthouse was clean and the bedroom bright with adequate toiletries and tea/coffee and milk. The bonus was a wonderful sea/harbour view. The choice of food for the freshly prepared breakfast was excellent. We had noted the comments by other guest on the parking. Yes, I accept there are few parking spaces outside the hotel but the public car park is accessible on foot in a couple of minutes via a short path leading down from the dining room. A wonderful and relaxing break, fantastic hosts, will we go back – definitely!

The staff were friendly, polite and informative. In addition to the cleanliness and general standard of the rooms, the other plus side of this guest house was the excellent breakfast provided. The only negative was the fact that there is no guaranteed parking immediately outside the premises which are situated on a main road. This is pointed out on the website but can mean a small trek to the pay and display car park. A very pleasant guest house to stay at.

Great views and welcoming host. Nice breakfast with good choice of fruit and cereals as well as Full English It's a very tall Regency building - quite a hike from the breakfast room to rooms on the top floor - not for the short of breath!

“Excellent staff, location and good facilities. The reception lady was brilliant and she really cared that we had a good night out. The view was first rate, the sea was mesmerising and we stayed up late just listening to the wind and surf. The bathroom (room 11) was shear indulgance, big enough for three even!! We would definately go back.” Ross, Taunton |
