Waterloo Hotel  

Friendly staff, spacious rooms, nice decor, country feel, great menu and comfortable public areas. Received an upgrade on arrival - nothing amazing but good spacious room.

Bathroom was dirty (hairs around the bath and on the floor, lots of dust, uncleaned toilet seat, water splashes on floor) plus a leaking shower. All could be sorted and I did alert the reception staff who were apologetic it just marred first impressions especially following a room upgrade.

Booking in Breakfast. Local to where we needed to be Free wireless Internet.

Number of light bulbs had blown in bedroom. Bathroom needed tidying up, shower encrusted with lime scale, sealant round bath, shower & floor loose, extractor not working.

Suitable for a one night stop over. Staff honoured check out time

Old and tatty. Your sire said 12.00 check out which is why we chose it but hotel said this was wrong.

I have stayed at this hotel for a number of weeks and find all the staff very helpful and friendly and a great asset to the hotel

The two young bar staff were absolutely fantastic great credit goes to them and also the lady who served breakfast - These people made all the difference.

The grounds need a bit of love and tender and the inside could do with a refreshing coat of paint. There was a lot of activity with coming and goings of take away delivery drivers not sure what that was all about but doesn't look good for a hotel to have this happen whilst you are a guest. Makes you wonder about the food which is prepared in the kitchen!!!

Friendly Hotel, clean rooms, good, adequate breakfast

Confusion at check in (booked through 'booking.com) hotel had no recollection of our booking. No staff at reception on our arrival. First impressions did not appear good. However, we later understood the hotel was undergoing change of ownership from that date!! Hopefully that will improve the situation.

Restaurant not open because of a wake so cramped into noisy bar for evening meal and no gluten free bread available so could not order Mussels

Quiet and comfortable

Some of the 'fabric' of the building needs a 'facelift'.

Staff were very welcoming and accomodating. We have stayed there twice before with our children and they are also lovely with kids!

hey i prefer thicker toast but who's complaining there was heaps of scrambled egg! small shower might challenge persons of a larger build !

Staff courtesy was patchy.

Complained several times about a poorly functioning shower and each time was assured it would be fixed. It was not.

The executive suite I booked on the internet appeared to have better facilities and space than the room I was given. I feel it was mis-represented. I wanted a larger room with more comfortable seating or a sofa. The full english breakfast was sparce with no toast. For a 4 star hotel, I expected more really.

Communal areas and bar nice and cosy

Not enough towels in the room, shower didn't work. Beer in the bar was warm and off, breakfast poor and staff unfriendly.
