The hotel staff were, without exception, friendly and efficient making us feel welcomed and valued. The meals were delicious with a great menu. Lovely view of the Forth Bridge. Double glazing works very well!
The hotel is difficult to find due to road and building works. But well worth the hassle.
The staff were far too good for such a very poor hotel.
Everything but the staff.
All the staff were so helpful Easy Access to Edinburgh, breakfast was adequate.
We had stayed at Queensferry on various occasions. We had booked an executive room but our bathroom had a shower within the bath, and the shower was very poor and the bath very slippery. Not what we expect of an executive room.
poor lighting in bedroom. Not suitable for cosmetic application
The view and location are great
Whole hotel is tiered and needs a refresh. We ate in the restaurant and waited almost an hour for our food we did get an apology after 30/40mins and once the food did arrive it was poor
Location was good. We stayed at hotel as we were at wedding.
Hotel is old fashioned and tired.breakfast is adequate and not enough staff clearing dishes. We had a meal in restaurant and it was only just ok.
the staff the staff deserve to work at a better hotel, they were the friendliest and most helpful of any of the hundreds of hotels i have visited
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Accommodation could do with an update. Hotel were short staffed in the evening which meant there was a long delay to get an evening meal therefore we had to get a taxi into Dunfermline.
The staff did respond to complaints and were generally friendly during the day . The cleaners were friendly too. The car park was never full, after duscussion of the problems the bill was reduced by one day without any problems. Transport to Edinburgh was reasonably cheap. There was plenty of hot water.
There was no information to tell you that the hotel was stuck on the middle of the work for the new Forth Bridge. All the rooms at the back of the hotel had no views if any kind. The first room we were given had a vomit stain on the carpet and mould on the bathroom floor. Although a change if rooms to the front was organised gladly after two nights when we arrived back the night staff showed us to a double room instead of a town room having wrongly made the assption that we would prefer to share a bed. They then had to find another free room. The hotel is clearly geared up for conferences and weddings. Poor information was available on train times into Edinburgh with the effect that the last train was missed on occasion. It was admitted that some rooms were due for an upgrade but really this should have been done some time ago. The first room we had should not have been offered to guests .
Clean and functional
Wi Fi coverage was poor - almost none existant in room
Food and staff really good
Noise from disco and those guests fighting. Room was located next to a lift and early morning staff trundling trolleys in and out of lift and down a ramp outside of room. Hence both nights we stayed sleep was disturbed
Price Restaurant meals overpriced and small. Noisy
I am very pleased with this hotel
Wi-Fi should be easy to connect without any registration or price.
Lovely meal at night and location.
Staff very helpful and attentive.Nothing was too much bother.Always greeted with a smile.Hotel quite nice.Beautiful scenery.
The food. Had to send back my starter as it was still frozen. Our main was tasteless.Had to go to kitchen in morn to return cooked breakfast as scrambled eggs were actually black. Quite disappointed with cost of mealsdont mind paying for good food but that really put us off returning.Shouldnt have paid for meals
Location great - outside the city but a 2 minute walk to bus stop and a 20 minute journey takes you into Edinburgh city centre. Lovely views over The Firth Of Forth. Really comfy beds, we all slept like logs. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Even after our return home, one lost Teddy Bear was happily on his way back to my son via Royal Mail. Thanks Leona!!
Parts of the hotel look a bit tired (if i have to put something!)
Me my wife & my 2 year old daughter stayed at Queensferry Hotel for two nights & we had a really happy time there. The Hotel is being refurbished at the moment but it is still a very nice place to stay. The staff are out of this world & could not have done anymore for us if they tried (& to us that is what makes your stay). The food was very nice & good value for money & the views from the restaurant are great. Would we go back again ? Yes . I work away most of the time so I get to stay at a lot of hotels & I have to say that this is a nice one (maybe not perfect but when they've finished the refurb it will be up there ! ) so well worth a look at.
The views across the Firth were lovely and the staff in both the reception and restaurant were very attentive and friendly. The food was also great at dinner. Unfortunately we had an early start and were not able to stay for breakfast.
A little wear and tear in the room - a hole in one of the curtains and a small stain on the carpet but otherwise it was quiet, comfortable and clean.
Staff were very freindly
My wife had rather a mediocre meal
The location is fantastic with beautiful views over the Forth and the bridges. The staff are warm and friendly especially on reception. The breakfast is as high a quality as I have had anywhere and overall the food was very good.
The hotel seems a bit dated and would be fantastic with some investment in being brought up to date, especially the entrance as it is first impressions that count. The gardens could be better maintained and could be an excellent feature.
staff, rooms, comfy bed, great view
Big room with a view, friendly staff, nice breakfast, easy access to a great walk across the bridge, good parking,
WiFi not great Did not like the multi door access to upper floors
Easy location to find, large and generally clean rooms, lots of parking space
tobacco smell in bathroom.
The hotel is easy to reach by car or taxi. It is in a quiet spot with superb views of the Firth of Forth and the three bridges. The staff are very kind and efficient yet unobtrusive. The breakfast and evening meal menus are wide-ranging enough to cater for different tastes. The grounds are set out in leafy sections where you can sit in peace and enjoy lots of different wildlife.
It would help to know that if you travel by train you should book to Inverkeithing as there is no taxi rank at North Queensferry. It would also help to have a map of the immediate area available as well as one of Edinburgh. Visitors can walk to North Queensferry or catch a bus. This is not easy to see from the hotel grounds.
