Staff attentive & helpful. Food good. Iinteresting views of new bridge build, surprisingly no noise from building works close by.
Hotel could do with some money spent on decorating,, paint & repair of restaurant ceiling.
We were given a dirty room, with dirty towels, after request to change room we were offered a newly refurbished room with no heating, only half of working lights and no water pressure in the shower or the toilet. The breakfast is probably the worst that I have ever seen!
Excellent service by all the staff , large room with a good size bed and good hearty breakfast very clean
Needs updating which I think they are in the process of doing as we had a new bathroom . The evening meal , while the starter and desert were good the main let it down slightly pie was nice but no veg with it and and it wasn't presented very well but overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back again
Views were great. and if your wife is pregnant they will do anything for her. Like making her a sandwhich even when the kitchen is closed for normal guests not attending the Gala dinner for New Years Eve Staff was very friendly. Especially Yvonne and Kirsten
The fact that we had to eat else where on New Years Eve and restaurant was only open for Gala dinner guests. Hair dryer hardly works in the bathroom. The rate per night doesnt justify the state of the building and what you get. On check out they charged me the ir normal rate and not the rate Bookings. Com quoted. This was rectified when I have queried it. Lastly the road works didnt affect us but when they get started again in the new year surely they will have to look at their rates.
Staff pleasant and helpful Superking bed Nice and modern Excellent breakfast, continental and full cooked breakfast Great location Plenty parking spaces
We couldn't connect to the wifi
staff friendly, welcoming and efficient
Free wifi kept closing
Views, quietness, great staff, vicinity to station for Edinburgh(20 mins in train). Romantic view from our room.
Lift was broken, but with only 2 floors wasn't a big problem.
Friendliness of all staff
I liked the food as I am a fussy eater and the staff took care of my needs: Plenty of meat in their pies and the fish was good
The road to the hotel is being addapted and we found it quite hard to find our bearings to get to the hotel
Dining facilities were first class and the service all over was also excellent
The road works!
Staff were exceptionally helpful. Views of bridges, old and under construction were stunning. Close to park and ride giving easy access to Edinburgh. Food tasty and excellent value.
Hours of heating were limited during our overnight stay.
Friendly and personable Staff
View from my room.
Restaurant menu limited and very unadventurous. Prices reasonable but food quality no better than an average pub. Staff friendly but few in number and frequently covering multiple jobs. Bar draught beer selection very poor. General decor tired and dated - especially room ensuite. Road entrance completely unlit and very easy to drive past.
dated rooms, quality of food
location and views pus chatty staff once up graded and new bridge and roads it will be fabulous
tired property needing upgrade surrounded by building site for new road
Comfortable and friendly staff. Very good value for money . Plenty parking. Wifi. Comfy beds in spacious clean room.
Location is out of Edinburgh, but access to train and city is acceptable. Facility dated, but clean, staff friendly and courteous.
Food selection is limited.
Handy location out of Edinburgh city. Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff.
For two of our three nights here, we were kept awake until 2-3 in the morning by drunken wedding guests. Staff should not have continued selling drinks to drunken patrons, many of whom were falling-down drunk. We were not happy!!!
staff at reception were very friendly
staff member at bar area on the day we were leaving, after paying £1.80 for a can of juice, i was not offered a glass or ice. bed was very lumpy
Staff were very friendly and polite. Great value for money. Had an evening meal in restaurant which was excellent. Highly recommend and would stay here again Thankyou :)
Food good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Bedroom carpet stained and grubby. Black mould round bath.
Nice welcome from reception, Clean room, comfy bed. good location easy access from bridge.
Poor indifferent attention from Night bar,had to go to recpetion and asked if I could be served. Asking for coffee three times at breakfast, the place was near empty aswell, used dishes at breakfast buffet not cleared away.
We were late getting Ryder Cup tickets and needed somewhere to stay at relatively short notice. The hotel took our booking & were very accomodating. The food in the restaurant was very good.
Very noisy in the early hours, we were woken up several times by slamming doors etc.
The hotel staff were, without exception, friendly and efficient making us feel welcomed and valued. The meals were delicious with a great menu. Lovely view of the Forth Bridge. Double glazing works very well!
The hotel is difficult to find due to road and building works. But well worth the hassle.
