Convenience of location in York. Poor quality of room furnishings , although this was the only room seen. |

In particular I liked the friendly relaxed ambience of the hotel. The staff are always willing to help. The food and waiter/waitress service were friendly and professional. I will be staying at the hotel again. |

the staff throughout the hotel are pleasant. the hotel is in a good location, clean comfortable and good value for money. the only thing is if you stay in the main hotel and you are on the second floor there is no lift but it doesnt affect not wanting to stay again |

I visited York - Check in not possible before 14:00 (we arrive at 9:30), the staff forgot the last day to wake me up at 6:30 as discussed the day before (very bad to reach the train to London, when we have reserved places), staff unfriendly all the time |

The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was great and I would return again to stay at this hotel. I would like to have had a small fridge in the room and I was dissapointed to have been charged for a glass of water when I asked for a glass of tap water when buying my third round of drinks from the bar. I thought that if you sold alcohol on your premises, you were obliged by law to give out water for free. |

Location. Breakfast choice Wardrobe too small for 2 people, also bad design as hangers are face on and not sideways. |

Locality to the city centre for sightseeing. The hotel was friendly and exactly what we wanted for,a short stay.Thank you. Sheets and blankets! Downies would be great.Dining room could do with a laminated floor as the carpet is pretty stained. We did not have a problem with these things but I think it would upgrade your star rating. |

Good location for the City If you can get a parking space leave the car everything is within walking distance. Pleasent staff and well cooked and served meals. There is no lift and the stairs are narrow. If you meet someone and you both have bags there a problem. Parking is shared with local fitness gym so around checkin time late afternoon early evaning there is no chance at all. The street alongside is permit holders only or pay and display till 8pm |

A relaxed, characterful and welcoming hotel. Though city centre it has a spacious quiet traditional feel that is capped by helpful welcoming staff and comfortable facilities. An ideal base for exploring York. |

Disappointed in quality/size of room considering the cost - decor a bit tired with musty/damp smell obvious in some areas but quality of food was good and staff helpfulness was excellent. Service priority in dining room appeared to be geared towards to 50+ American students staying there! |
