Lady Anne Middleton's Hotel    

Lady Middleton is in the heart of York but you feel you are in the countryside.Friendly staff ,clean and big rooms .

Restaurant closes at 9pm.

- The breakfast was excellent. - Perfect location for the city.

- The prices varied for the same drinks on two consecutive nights. - The barman did not know how to make a Pimms & Lemonade. - The parking was a nightmare and my vehicle was scratched on the door panel. - One of the first staff we met at reception was abrupt. -

So close to centre. Access to gym and pool. Breakfast was varied and well staffed.

Wasn't exactly a double room as booked but two twin beds pushed together. Not very comfortable for a couple. In effect slept in two separate beds so may as well have booked a twin room. Bit disappointing.

Excellent room and facilities and a very good location within the city, being only a 5 minute walk across the bridge and you are in the centre of York and its shops/attractions.

Bit restrictive on car parking but staff were more than willing to help sort a space out for you.

Location was excellent. We were able to park the car in the grounds, and walk into York easily. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Breakfast could have been better. The toaster machine either cremated the bread or barely browned it. For those people who don't want a cooked breakfast, this is quite important.

It was situated in a very good posoition to see and get the best out of visiting York. It felt very welcoming. It served up some good food (breakfasts, lunch, dinnerItwasn

it wasn,t your fault but lugging a heavy case up the stairs was not too good. I was offered help but I remained independent

We pulled up to the front of the hotel in our car and immediately thought that the place looked charming, just what I was looking for in York, we had a place to park our car. There are two koi ponds out front, a place to sit outside to rest as well as a place for smokers. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and we had a lovely dinner. The night before we left there was a talanted Jazz trio in the lounge and we had a drink and enjoyed ourselves.

There was nothing charming about our room, it was just big enough to hold the double bed, 1 chair, a tiny desk and a table which held the coffee and tea tray. The bed was extreamely uncomfortable, it is old, and really should be replaced. I did not think a bathroom could be that small. We were moved to a room with two twin beds and a least we had a bit more room to move around and a place to put our luggage out of our way. I would thought because of the history of York that there might be some interesting pictures on the walls in the rooms, not so. We loved our four days in York and it was not spoiled by our poor accomodation. My advise to the owner, put more comfort and interest in your guest rooms.

We only stayed the one night,the room was very clean and comfortable and quiet,the breakfast was very good.very nice surroundings outside.very obliging staff.would definatly stay there again.

Meals a little too expensive,they need to compete with other restraunts.
