Owner was very helpful, and as we had the 'room' (apartment) with a kitchen and a sitting room, it was spacious and very good value. The property overlooks a very quiet valley, and river, so that scenery is a bonus. Well, not exactly 'not like', but things to bear in mind. The property is up a single-lane track, maybe a mile from the road. This isn't a problem (beware running over suicidal pheasants and bunny rabbits!) but people without a car (cyclists/walkers?) would need to know. The nearest real civilisation is Duns, maybe 15 mins drive. And those eating out should be aware that local restaurants tend to stop serving very early on Sundays (7.30pm?) so you need to make enquiries in advance. (There is a Chinese in Duns, and indeed a Co-op s'market, if you need late sustenance).

Everything - the hosts were considerate, friendly but not intrusive. The location was amazing - so peaceful and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to chill this is it. Will be back again.

The setting of the home is stunning,anyone who enjoys peace and quiet will enjoy a stay here. The hosts are exremely friendly and try to please. The rooms are quaint and rustic in my view but this is no detriment.

Please see my booking details, I thought that my room has been booked for 65 Pounds but I have to pay 80 Pounds which meand additional 15 pounds. I know it has described separately below but my understanding was 65 because booking information clearly state that 1 room for 3 persons for 65 Pounds. I think you need to recheck.

Alison and Bill were excellent hosts, friendly and generous. They provide a tranquil retreat from the world, as well as a superb breakfast. It's just personal preference, but we're not keen on sharing bathrooms and toilets... Even a sink in the room would be nice. Also, the bed was somewhat lumpy!

Quiet and remote, made very welcome even though we arrived late - 10.45. No problem to us but sat nav is a must to find it. No name board at the main road. But GPS and the website instructions do work.

The hosts were extremely friendly and eager to help. Beautiful, quiet location. Many interests for small children (dogs, wildlife, river...). Great if you like feeling far away from everything for a while - although many tourist attractions (culture, seaside...) can be reached in less than an hour. Nothing, we had a perfect stay.

I liked serenity of the place, cleanliness. The only thing I didn't like was the smell of bed linen( it was ok, clean), but it's because I'm allergic to any detergents that have smell. The rest was lovely, esp the bathroom clean etc. My daughter like the place very much. Thank you.

Alison e Bill sono strepitosamente gentili ed intelligenti ed il luogo è più che incantevole. Da non perdere: il bagno nel fiume che scorre davanti alla casa ed il cammino verso S. Abb head a venti km verso nord est sul mare. Merita andarci per quanto si stia bene e sia tutto così normalmente eccellente.

Difícil de encontrar pero precioso lugar. Para apartarse del mundo. Los señores que gestionan este bed & breakfast son encantadores La casa preciosa y con mucha personalidad. Por decir algo, sólo los colchones que ya están para cambiar.
