Views,parking,breakfast, Staff all great
We selected a small room which was perfectly adequate. Very clean and well equipped with a bonus of a good view. Hotel nice and warm in cold weather. Staff excellent and breakfast 1st class and good selection.
Amazing views, friendly staff and great food!
The phone wasn't working properly in my room. I was cold during the night and needed a blanket (not one in room) but too tired/lazy to get up and dressed to go to reception at 2am. Reported faulty phone in morning.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay - food and facilities top job! Will return when we can.
From the restaurant great views
Could be cleaner, just one up from basic room
The room we stayed in was truly amazing. Our meal in the evening was superb and the view was outstanding. We cant wait to come back again.
Location, superb view, friendly and efficient staff.
Room was very, very hot! (even though we turned the radiator off. Bathroom radiator had no off-knob).
Views from resteraunt were superb Easy to find and good parking Good check in and out Good location to walk from
Surprised b limited freddy fish on January menu when the island has a lot of fish resteraunts and local giahing
Staff very helpful. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent
Really good breakfast and fantastic views
The view and staff at breakfast was the only good 3 things to say about this hotel.
As my Mum lives in Portland and there's nowhere for me and my partner to stay I decided that the Heights would be a better choice than the cheaper hotels in Weymouth. When we checked in to say I was dissapointed was the least. I had requested a sea view room as it was Boxing Day I couldn't imagine that the hotel would be that booked. However we ended up in a square room, a bathroom where the toilet didn't flush and the radiator was on constantly over looking construction work. Breakfast finished at 9.30 in which I found really early and check out was at 12 in which we were disturbed 3 times in the space of 10 minutes as we checked out a little late trying to sort out the toilet. I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend it! Without the view at breakfast the £80 I spent as a Christmas treat for me and my boyfriend would of been more bitter.
The view! The staff were lovely, even the cleaners on Christmas day. Good, new shower! Bistro food was OK but felt the focus was on the Christmas food. Plenty of space to sit on a wet day
two staircases between the dining room and the bedrooms. Hard, uncomfortable pillows Room too hot and no possibility of air from the window
We had a two night break over Christmas, whilst visiting family members. The hotel has stunning views over the bay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel rather lacks character.
Location and views from restaurant plus staff very helpful and friendly.
Having booked a slightly more expensive room I was totally depressed to find room decor very very brown! My heart sank. Not helped by very poor two ceiling mounted lights - (probably about 40watts each) thank goodness for two small reading spotlights!! "Leather"sofa was very slippery...so sadly not a cosy room for a winter stay. Bathroom very nicely appointed - but again inadequate lighting so no good for doing makeup or shaving... I don't know if all rooms like this - if so an injection of good lighting and coloured accessories would make this a cheerier place.
Efficient staff and a great location.
My husband and I had wanted to stay in the hotel for years.we finally found time and booked one night away.sadly it did not live up to our expectations the room overlooked a shaby broken pool.the wardrobe was damp and our clothes smelt so we couldn't wear them. the bathroom was very small but shabby, the staff were very polite and the views amazing.sadly we wont return to this hotel.
The Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good particularly the breakfast. The view is stunning from the hotel
The bar area could be a bit more comfortable.
The greeting was friendly and informative. The room was clean and functional. Terrific shower. The food was hearty, tasty and wholesome. The views from the restaurant and location are brilliant.
The only critisism I have is the room was too hot for my tastes. I tried to turn the radiator off, but didn't seem to make any difference. The window could only be opened a short way to alleviate the best.
The view, amazing location, comfortable stay
Not really a negative but No chocolate brownie on the menu otherwise we would have dined there to :)
Extremley helpful staff
Hallways, bedrooms and bar / restaurant area are an old fashioned design. Needs to be modernised in its look and feel.
A comfy short stay. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff, good location for exploring the Jurassic coast.
Fantastic Views, good breakfast
Mean on the bathroom extras such as shower gel and shampoo
the added bonus of fried bread with the breakfast .
the fact that the room had not been checked for :- a) Duff bedside lamp bulb . b) Shower rail support not connected c) One of the radiators - no heat from it needed bleeding - esp as no rads or additional heat for bathroom .
