Nice, happy staff.convenient situation.wonderful views. Restauarant food quality poor.my grilled fish was very poor and looked as if it had been scraped from bottom of the freezer.pity as the hotel is close by a fishing town! This is the third time I have had dinner here but will give it once last chance before eating out. Breakfast O.K.Service is pleasant and happy which almost made up for quality of the dinner. Otherwise a nice place let down by poor restauarnt.

Room was basic but clean and had everything needed Food although not bad could be much improved, especially for the prices which were charged, not good value.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very good variety/choice for breakfast. Leisure facilities were absolutely fine. A great location for exploring the Isle of Portland. The restaurant decor needs updating. The hotel needs a new or or at least a trained chef. The size of the bedroom was fine but the single beds were far too narrow and uncomfortable.

Staff were excellent, very professional and friendly, efficient. Location fantasic, good bed, pretty good value for money, food was good, particularly breakfast. The Hotel is tired looking and would definitely benefit from a make over, particularly the pool and sauna which I wouldnt use at all as it looked dingy and smelt a bit, if they dont want to upgrade it they should get rid of it all together!! It doesnt do the hotel any favours at all.

Staff friendly and efficient. Service was good overall. Location is excellent with superb views. Duty manager responded well to unaddressed problem and provided rapid courteous solution. Quality of food was well above that of other hotels in this bracket.

Breakfast; very good food and service plus the wonderful panoramic view of Portland Harbour, Chesil and Weymouth. The volume on the room (219) tv set was set so low (22) that it rendered this facility virtually useless. The staff on duty were unable to help as it was set at this level by the engineer, we were told. It is appreciated that there is a need to not disturb other guests but at this low level it is either overinsurance or the soundproofing is insufficient

Excellent views overlooking Chesil Beach,Weymouth Bay & Portland harbour. We also enjoyed the quality buffet breakfasts & evening meals combined with attentive service & again the views with evening sunsets. We thought the bath was too steep & deep & rather slippy getting out.

We used to live in Weymouth and reared 3 Boys as fishermen. Which they love to this day. They loved the Fleet and Chesil Beach. We went back to remonish and were totally lost . The change in 25 years was totally confusing, but we enjoyed our quick trip particularly the Hotel we could not have got anything better. Thank the Staff for us we only had the chance to thank a few of them Well done Mr & Mrs Laing

Super food in the Bistro! Wonderful selection of food on the menu. Breakfast was also very good. Wonderful selection on a help yourself buffet, no excuse for going hungry. Views from the restaurant are to die for. Nice outdoor pool and super Leisure centre. Lots of nice easy and hard walks close at hand. Wonderful base, whatever you want out of a break away The plumbing could be a trifle noisy at times but not really a big problem

My wife and i were impressed with the staff and the Food. The room was clean and tidy. The views from the dinning area were lovely. We will be going back. You would have to go along way to get better food. Our evening meal and breakfast were superb. We booked the island Special room but were only given a normal room 117.

The hotel provides good value for money - if booked at discount rates. It is clean and functional. The rooms provide basic facilities in keeping with the tariff. The food is acceptable and the waiting staff polite and helpful. The dinner menu offers a good choice; some items are exceptional (The Clam Chowder was the best I have ever tasted on either side of the Atlantic). Overall, we had a pleasant short break and would certainly consider visiting again. The hotel is positioned at a high vantage point with outstanding views of the harbour and Chesil Beach and the local area. Unfortunately, only the public rooms had this view; the view from the bedrooms is non- existent. As the hotel is 2 stories high, there's not a lot that can be done about this!

The views, friendly staff, lovely and relaxing eating breakfast looking over the bays, the room was very clean but I dont think they change the bedcovers on change over did not see any on the trollies as we left, on this point I think it would be better to have duvets. When given the keys to our room I just wanted to leave I'm very claustaphobic and there was no view just brick walls, my husband said its only for a night but I knew I did not want to be there, so I went to reception and told them, and asked if there was another room, they gave us the keys for a much nicer room, which had a door which opened onto the swimming pool area,it was very nice, so I suggest anyone feeling like I do stays away from room 210 Think I would have left if nothing else was offered.

Staff were very helpful and deserve praise and bonuses for thier efforts and pleasant attitude. View is fantastic from the restaurant. Rooms are clean and comfortable if a little dated, But cannot complain for the price we paid it was good value and for the sake of repition the management really should look after his staff!

The location, wonderful views of Chesil beach Poor house keeping, terrible decor, dimly lit corridors, road noise, slow dinner service, paper thin walls, hard small beds. Surrond area looks like building site and bit mobile phone mast in car park. No eggs at breakfast and luke warm egg scrambled.
