The first night, the Lady Restaurant Manager was in a flap, she didnt arrive till 6,we had booked for 615, as it gets very busy, there was noone in, yet sheplaced us by the open public door, so I refused to sit there, Id noticed members of the public coming up the outside stone steps to the bar and restaurant, which are on the first floor, and using the men`s washing facilities, so there was a continual trafficking area of people coming thru the public door, she gave me some lame excuse, even though she knew we were staying there, sat us, in a corner. The view was amazing, but it was just too hot, they need blinds to keep the sun off the diners,I was overheated, my hubbi said I went bright red like a lobster!!!
There was no pool or jacuzzi facility, looked great for conferences and meetings.Thought the gym would be bigger for that many guests.
The courtyard`reception area was being updated, so there was cement dust everywhere, so no good for anyone asthmatic!
The local Portland Museum carpark was full the whole duration of our visit, and Id gone there to do some local Portland, studies, so was disappointed
Our room didnt have the facilities we requested on our booking form, but the helpful duty manager changed all that.He was very polite, he was also was the Tourist Information person.
There were no views from our updated room, downstairs, our view was the telephone exchange brick wall next door, but I got a good shower and the room was huge, we asked for a twin with shower,..
The cleaning lady was most helpful, and got me a shower mat, which they dont provide unless u ask for at reception.Very Helpful staff, apart from one!
The views were amazing, but I think the prices for a 3star Hotel were too high. I will go to a 4star hotel, if I can find one.
