Score from 73 reviews Very good
The room lovely, comfy bed soft sheets, great food in restaurant helpfull staff very happy and knowledgeable easy parking great shower superb views as I remember from family photos of the past
Main road noise at night with windows open, not enough pastries at breaky Not enough gym equipment need more weights and cross trainers to be more modern No aircon in bedroom made it very hot.
The location was perfect. Amazing view. Pub food of a good standard
Wifi signal poor in rooms. Expensive for travel lodge standard rooms but the view makes up for it.
The view from the bistro; sensible and intelligent staff; comfortable room
The bistro (note not a "restaurant") is geared to coach parties: menu and ambience are "popular" rather than "romantic" -- the groups get their drinks at the bar and then trail past you, drink in hand to their table
The staff were extremely helpful; the rooms were adequate and the breakfast was self service and extensive
There were no major problems we had with the hotel. A very minor comment would be the positioning of the toilet roll and holder in the bathroom. This was fixed the the wall behind ones right shoulder and on the adjacent right side wall making access difficult.
Not clean and to expensive.
Liked that breakfast was up to ten o'clock. Thought bar prices were quite reasonable. Comfortable bed and room size was good
No comfy chairs to sit in the bar by the TV. Also no sky sports. Drab dark wood everywhere. Didn't think the room was luxurious at all, apart from the bed and size of the room. The bathroom was very dated
Location View from the dining room Easy access to Weymouth - buses running every 10 minutes
Room was small but we did have a sea view this time
Comfy beds Lovely breakfast
Rain water coming though the ceiling of the bistro whilst eating our evening meal! Looking out on a disused swimming pool from our room. Hotel looks tired in places.....needs to be updated.
Food Wifi Comfort
Food was good, staff were friendly and the views were amazing.
Room was too small fir the price we paid & bathroom ridiculously tiny! Bedding cheap and thin and decor dated and dark.the room we had felt damp and cold even on a warm day.
Food, cleanliness of rooms, comfortable beds
Bar area is very mixed up with bistro and could use some comfortable chairs for guests just wanting to have a drink.
Location was very good. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff were very helpfull.
The only thing that was very annoying was the very noisy fan in the toilet when the light was switched on,it should go off when the light is turned off but kept going for about 10 minutes. You could also hear the next room fan which kept us awake for quite a while. If rectified I will definitely stay here again.
View from the restaurant was good
For the money I would expect more. Our room looked like it hadn't been painted for 20 years and it was quite grubby, hairs all in the sink, bath and on the toilet. It smelt like an old peoples home. The whole place just needs a serious update, even the pool which should be an asset is covered in an old plastic sheet, unused with dodgy old patio slabs around it - what a waste.
The views, friendly and helpful staff.
The evening meal in the restaurant on the first night.

Great location.good food.
No information about the hotel & facilities were given by the staff. Had to ask. Swimming pool shut & we were not informed when booking made.
Excellent views, excellent extensive breakfast, really nice room, asked for a quiet room and it genuinely was quiet
Price a bit steep including the in house restaurant so ate out. Also actually hill up to the hotel extremely steep - get the bus!

Nice clean hotel , lovely cooked breakfast , amazing views , brilliant location for walking on Portland , well connected to Weymouth with frequent bus service . My only issue was the pool was decommissioned . I will stay again in the future
The location is superb. I had not been to Portland before and booking the Heights introduced me to the area and I would certainly go back there. It was a good place for a solo traveller and the restaurant/bar staff were very accommodating. Lovely food and good choice for a vegetarian.
I was disappointed with the Gym/Leisure facilities. The equipment was quite old and the gym very hot. The gym was one of my criteria for choosing the Heights and certainly not a 'selling point' for the Hotel. Also - a minor point - when I telephoned to make an enquiry before I arrived, the member of staff was quite officious and not representative of the staff I met during my stay. A little off-putting!
All staff very friendly and helpful. The views were brilliant and the hotel very comfortable.
We didn't sleep very well because the bed was so hot due to the under cover on the mattress. To be fair it is the same in most hotels as they have to protect the mattress with a rubber based cover.
The views could not be beaten
Bathroom wasnt clean staff need to be issued with limescale remover
