Friendly staff nice room
Confusion on arrival wasnt booked in as family room and room service expensive
A very comfortable bed and helpful staff.
Bathroom was small and the decor was very tired.
the location was good, it was the external view that sold the booking, but there was no where to safely walk off of the grounds. The bed was comfortable and large. Tv options and films was extensive plenty of hot water and a good shower
We thought our room looked tired and could do with looking more modern particularly the bathroom which had an old bath and tiles a wobbly mirror and blobs of paint on the bright work on the door. The room was not air conditioned and so we found it impossible to sleep ( a fan was provided but was not suitable as the only place it could be plugged in was to far from the bed to be effective) We had breakfast at 0845 on the first day. There was no cranberry juice, the eggs and beans were so cold my wife decided against having a cooked breakfast. and nobody asked if we would like other options on the breakfast menu so we had to assume they had finished as an option for the day. Whilst waiting for service we both noticed how worn and marked the carpet was in the dining area. I did not feel the range of options for breakfast was particularly large either (about the same as you get in holiday/premier inn) As it was our anniversary i tried to pre order flowers for our room but although the staff did make 3 phone calls to a supplier none were delivered. There was also an annoying external alarm or ringing noise all day long. ( although this was turned off at night) To summarize we think that for a 4 star establishment the quality of food and environment should have been better and the service lacked the quality i would expect. You did no better that a premier inn which we feel is better value for money
Breakfast staff honest and forthright.
Woken 8am after requesting no early call
Nice breakfast lots of choice Clean room
Bit noisy I am a light sleeper and we were on the bottom floor could hear doors slamming people coming down stairs etc.
location is great.
Had to search for someone to get checked in as the reception desk was empty.
The surroundings and the general view was beautifully set out. The building was as I expected. Old style mansion.
The room smelled musty like it hadn't been aired out for months. The bathroom was disgusting and we refused to use it until it was cleaned. Dated decor...
the location of hotel near,motorway
always had a swimming pool, well gutted as were others,to find it closed down
The setting is really pleasant, whilst breakfast was above average
Waiting 2hrs for bar food and being almost totally ignored by staff whilst they pandered to every need of the corporate guests. Very hot room making sleeping impossible. All staff, bar one, poorly trained. Management was directionless and not managing at all. Find it hard to believe it has any stars let alone 4!
This is not wot I call a first class hotel, but surroundings and location was good.
Room was very, very hot, no aircon or fan so couldn't sleep. Toilet never flushed properly, coffee machine dident work, there was no other instant coffee in room or sugar so couldn't have either. When we arrived at 3.50, we were told our room wasent ready so had to wait to sort out another. We complained about all incidents and all we got was sorry about that.!!!! Well we will not be going back. You cannot call this a 4 star hotel, more like 2 to 3. We were very annoyed and disappointed for the money we paid which we were charged for an upgrade for the room we had. No response was given back
food evening meal and breakfast room comfortable staff especially service is resteraunt were really good and attentive
price of dining was high needs a redecorate soon hard to find no facilities apart from bar and nice grounds
Setting Warm welcome from staff Good breakfast
Evening meal poor Restricted dining menu Creaking floor boards in bedroom Noisy bedroom doors
Limited menu but done extremely well excellent fresh breakfast. Staff were attentive and friendly but not hovering Well done all round !!! We will use this one again.
Surroundings very beautiful and breakfast excellent eat as much as you want from juice, toast, fruit, full English and it was no bother for them to give you another pot of tea.
We rented Privilege rooms mainly because it said unlimited films we had a 4 year old with us and thought that would be good. Unfortunately everything except the normal channels had to be paid for so we might as well of booked their Classic rooms. On the first night I could here what I thought was a tv on too loud or someone playing a computer game had very little sleep it was only next morning I found my daughter had rung down to ask for the music from a wedding could be turned down. There was a wedding on every day we were there and the first night a wedding and a hen party. The room was adequate I found cobwebs in the corner and the bathrooms need updating the room was really hot I had to have a large fan on and the window open all night. I was really disappointed.
Location. Used 3 time before.
walls near bay window need clearing as do the roof supports in the bar. Bar drinks cabinet fell off rails! When we called back for items we left behind the reception was not staffed, no bell & no phone to call an extension so a 10 minute wait resulted. Breakfast not up to usual standard.
Good size room Comfortable beds
Wedding party was allowed to rampage through the hotel unchecked until 1.00am disturbing our nights sleep
The bed was really comfortable
There were bottles and half empty glasses littering all the outside tables and broken glass on the grass, I am concerned the children could have drunk the alcohol left lying around, this was at midday and the drinks were from the night before. I have never seen this before anywhere else and was disgusted. The next morning at 9.30 there were still empty beer cans littering the front lawn and a smashed glass in the car park. There was no aircon in the bedrooms, the shower was a difficult to turn on and worse to turn off, the cold water tap was noisy, there was no extractor fan in the bathroom, the tissue dispenser was empty
Despite asking for quiet room on drop-down menu, was given probably noisiest room positioned overlooking reception and bar area where hotel was hosting a wedding. No towels in room on arrival & cups weren't cleaned following use on first morning. No "good morning" from staff when leaving hotel early morning.
Location and bar staff were lovely.
Coffee was dreadful, no water in rooms, poor lighting, no help with bags, limited menus, reception staff dismissive.
Location and setting is ideal
An excellent location for those looking for a quiet location with very easy access to Bristol centre
Great , friendly staff Nice breakfast in bed Comfy bed Beautiful countryside
Over heated room Horrendous bridal party £20 paid for upgrade that was a rip-off No real view from upgraded room
The Grange is very beautlfull
I did not feel at home since the hotel staff mainly focus on the large groups that are attending weddings or functions there rather than the hotel guest.I would not recommend the hotel for stay other than if attending a wedding or fucntion
The double bed is big and really comfortable. The restaurant is nice overlooking the gardens.
All the time there was consistent noise like water running through pipes which made it very difficult to sleep. I did report it and they said they would look into it.
The fact that the hotel was surrounded by countryside yet so close to motorways and railway
That you had to stumble around in pitch darkness to get to our room in the out buildings
