Bed and room very comfortable - staff very helpful and friendly. Spa relaxing. Quiet location in the countryside, close enough to get to Bristol and the local villages. Just like most hotels on the continent, bit like flying with Ryan Air - £x for breakfast, £x for wifi, etc.., surely these costs should be within the cost of the stay!? Dinner costs on top, but would be better to include the service charges within the overall dinner price (eg like the French - 'service compris') and not as a separate cost - saves the embarrasing question, what is this extra separate cost?

Clean, nice grounds. The cost of drinks was far too high and suggested greed and an element of abuse of a 'captive' audience. Breakfast should have been included in the package. We have just returned from a holiday in the Maldives - if we had stayed/drank/eaten for the same period with you it would have cost us more.

Attended a wedding ceremony. The Grange was in a great location and we had a great time. Drink prices excessive. Used glasses / plates left in corridor / foot of stairs. Main toilets need updating.

We attended a wedding at the Grange we had a lovely time with the wedding party, food was good though breakfast could have been hotter!! Reception staff (James) was very helpful. Room clean but tired and the bed a bit lumpy. Convenient and good value thankyou Decor is dated, breakfast was cold and lacked a bit of imagination - only eggs were fried we lke scrambled or poached, bread low quality and coffee weak.

Location was quite lovely - staff were friendly - meals were interesting - room was comfortable and quite charming as were the public rooms. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. A little bit of a musty smell but as The Grange is a very old manor house that is not unusual

We visited Brsitol for the hot air balloon event, so only wanted a hotel for 1 night. We felt this was a good price for a family room, although we have 2 children, so they ended up sharing with me in the super king, while my husband got the sofa bed which was a single. Fine for 1 night, probably not more though! The indoor pool and extensive grounds were great fun for the children. The hotel was large enough that we didn't feel conspicuous having 2 young, energetic children running about. The staff were a good mix of ages, some having been with the hotel many years have seen it all. There were enough different areas for each of us to sneak off and do our own thing, I read in the lounge while my husband and kids played in the grounds. Had we been staying longer I would have happily ducked into the jacuzzi and sauna, unfortunately we didn't have time this trip. The decor is a little bit tired, with no air con in the bedrooms, but neither spoilt our 1-night stay.

On arrival the reception staff claimed not to have details of our reservation, made worse by the fact that the hotel was supposedly fully booked. Fortunately we had printed a copy of your acknowledgement which was sufficient proof to demonstrate that we had a booking, and furthermore a later cancellation meant that they were able to find us a room, albeit not of the type originally requested. On balance we don't know where responsibility for this error lies but it made for a stressful half hour whilst the matter was resolved.

Pool, cleanliness, location General stingy aspects such as minute pillows, pitiful breakfast fruit buffet with only pineapple and melon as fruit. Gym in pool area pointless as too hot to use.

Room good size and comfortable. Gardens are delightful. Raal sense of country retreat. Honey in industrial quantities at breakfast - usually grudgingly rationed out.Staff seem cheery and a good team. Reception didn't fill me with confidence on my arrival. Asked my postcode 3 times, followed by furrowing of brow and furious typing and no indication of whether my booking had been found or not, which is nerve wracking for the late night guest. The spa area is a joke and I have no idea what persuaded Sebastian Coe to lease his name. The contrast between expectation and delivery is Grand Canyon wide

It is a lovely country setting very secluded and would have been the ideal romantic setting Where to start firstly there was no permanent bar staff one guest was so fed up he went behind the bar and offered to serve everyone. I booked a table at the restaurant as it was a special day my wife wanted to order from the main menu not allowed set menu only we have a party on. No mention before hand of any problem. We elected not to eat, it didnt but it could have ruined the entire day. The staff didnt give a dam !!!!

Location was excellent as we needed to be near the M5/M4 From the moment we arrived we were treated like serial thieves. We checked in and [requested] to pay immediately. We ordered a bar snack as we were not told on booking that the hotel restaurant was closed for private parties. We placed our order at the bar and requested the wine menu. When the wine menu was delivered the bill for the food we had ordered arrived. When we mentioned that we were ordered wine we were (as for reception) told we could pay separately. We have never been treated like criminals in a hotel of any standard never mind a four star hotel.
