The building and grounds. The comfy room.
Clean room, good room service, good food, comfortable bed, good location.
Room was freezing, took a while for the radiator to heat the room. If it was on very low for when I arrived that would have taken the edge off. Noone at the desk when I arrived, so I had to wait a while, one off I wouldn't mind but this is often the case when I stay at the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay so much, we were there for a Xmas party which was great, and to be able to fall into a perfect room was amazing!!! Would recomend it highly. Staff were very pleasant. Will definitely return, party or no party!! Thank you
Very comfy beds, beautiful location, great parties, luxurious setting, easy to navigate to, lots of parking
Rude staff, expensive breakfast, lack of facilities
Receptionist was willing and able to change our room when we requested a light bulb for the non-functioning bedside lamp
Wedding party expanded throughout communal spaces and made several negative comments as if we were 'gate crashers', when in fact they had only booked one space. There is opportunity for staff training in relation to meal services
Rooms were very old fashioned. Bathroom was vile. Limescale on taps. Grime all over the bath. Hair found in the bath and sink. Could hear staff outside the door in early hours planning cleaning next day which woke us up. Check out was 12 but for some reason cleaners decided to knock only once (quietly I may add) at 9:50 and then burst into the room before we could get to the door.
wifi great fror streaming bed huge and comfortable clean and furniture in good condition
no lift, stairs to room with bags. no leisure facilities
Lovely setting and the staff were excellent in the majority only a couple of what I assume we're newer staff who could do with development. Food was excellent.
Location was beautiful, hard to believe motorway or the city was just around the corner. Room was comfortable and homely, Staff were extremely helpful and caring.
Bathroom could do with updating
Modern and comfortable bedroom lovely location.
Room was too hot so had to leave the window open and VERY noisy wedding party at night meant we couldn't get to sleep. Bathroom was clean but a little tired needed replacing as sink was cracked.
in need of perhaps flowers in reception and lounge area. furniture was dated and looked stained
Free Wifi a real bonus - excellent fast connection. Room very clean.
No Fridge in the room which was a shame.
Loud wedding made sleep difficult. Guests should be warned in advance if this is going on and put in rooms far away from wedding guests. People running up and down the corridors screaming was not pleasant!
Pleasant, comfortable, clean, mostly quiet. Good breakfast.
Location is excellent and grounds are pleasant. Friendly barman but no cocktails!
We have been coming to this hotel for many years, my wife since 1990. However standards seem to have dropped dramatically over the past year or so. Decor overall is looking tired and uncared for, room was not cleaned to a good standard and there was what looked like dried vomit on the net curtains. Breakfast was well below the usual standard and the loss of the leisure centre is a shame. Not deserving of a AA 4 star rating. We will not be re-visiting
Clean room. Friendly front desk staff and bar tenders. Nice coubtryside location but with very quick access to bristol and the motorway. 24 hour check in.
Sunday breakfast staff were not as efficient as they had been on the saturday. We had to ask several times for things like clean cups.
no where to eat dinner even though reservaition made had to eat in room very unhappy
Grounds, the layout of the building,
inattentive staff, poor service, long waiting time for a simple cup of coffee which was almost cold. Standing at reception for 30 mins waiting to check out and pay bill, only to be told they cant do a receipt....!!!!!! Really lets down the entire place
Comfortable room and facilities. Good breakfast and pleasant surroundings.
Slightly noisy from plumbing in adjacent rooms.
Friendly staff nice room
Confusion on arrival wasnt booked in as family room and room service expensive
The staff were very friendly and were the best part of the hotel. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was reasonable. I would recommend the hotel if you want to stay somewhere near the M4 M5 interchange, which we did for one night. I would not recommend it for a longer stay.
The building and decor were very tired. The carpets were grubby. The bar area was tiny and spartan. There was only one receptionist on duty at check out time. Two guests were having an argument which involved the receptionist and a queue developed so it took quite a while to check out.
A very comfortable bed and helpful staff.
Bathroom was small and the decor was very tired.
the location was good, it was the external view that sold the booking, but there was no where to safely walk off of the grounds. The bed was comfortable and large. Tv options and films was extensive plenty of hot water and a good shower
We thought our room looked tired and could do with looking more modern particularly the bathroom which had an old bath and tiles a wobbly mirror and blobs of paint on the bright work on the door. The room was not air conditioned and so we found it impossible to sleep ( a fan was provided but was not suitable as the only place it could be plugged in was to far from the bed to be effective) We had breakfast at 0845 on the first day. There was no cranberry juice, the eggs and beans were so cold my wife decided against having a cooked breakfast. and nobody asked if we would like other options on the breakfast menu so we had to assume they had finished as an option for the day. Whilst waiting for service we both noticed how worn and marked the carpet was in the dining area. I did not feel the range of options for breakfast was particularly large either (about the same as you get in holiday/premier inn) As it was our anniversary i tried to pre order flowers for our room but although the staff did make 3 phone calls to a supplier none were delivered. There was also an annoying external alarm or ringing noise all day long. ( although this was turned off at night) To summarize we think that for a 4 star establishment the quality of food and environment should have been better and the service lacked the quality i would expect. You did no better that a premier inn which we feel is better value for money
nothing to mention
