Rates were very reasonable and included breakfast which we were not expecting. The room was clean and with the extra blanket on the bed it was comfortable.
The room was an odd shape and not much natural light in the room. It was not at all comfortable to relax in as we couldn't get the radiator on so chilly also.
The room was comfortable
The location of the room was awful over a night club
there was nothing to like
The staff were not informative, there was no information in the room. There were damp stains on the ceiling and holes in the wall and the bed was uncomfortable. Entertainment was advertised every night from 8.30pm however when we got back to the hotel at 10.45pm, everything was shut down. When we booked, it was for bed and breakfast, however on our key card it stated room only though we would not have had a breakfast there! All in all, extremely disappointed and would not stay there again.
Clean and tidy. Great facilities and location
Check out at 10 would be better if was 12
Value for money, great location, Excellent accommodation.
Bit old and tired
The location is poor. Directly above a bar and arcade within the hotel, and next door to other bars in the town centre. The noise was unbearable, despite having the windows closed the whole time. We complained and requested another room on the floor above, but it made absolutely no difference. There were people smoking in the rooms next door which left our belongings smelling. We complained to reception and asked to speak to a manager, but were told he wouldn't be available until the next day. Went to find him the following day to be told he wouldn't be coming in,and they were unable to deal with our complaint, and directed us to the main Brittania website. It was supposed to be a special weekend at the wedding of our close friends, and it was absolutely ruined by only 2 hours of sleep and appalling customer service. I would never stay here again.
Not enough waiters in restaurant at breakfast time. They worked very hard but couldn't do everything. Breakfast was poor quality cereal, poor quality juice, beans, bacon, sausages, even nasty bread. Instant coffee sachets on the table? Disgraceful. Cheap, nasty teabags. The porridge was vile. sweet and milky and possibly not even oats.
Room was clean.5 min walk from marina.
Staff lacking in customer service. Food mediocre. Average age of clientele appears to be mid 80's which is who they cater for. No parking facilities except down the road at sister hotel. Noisy at night as night club at hotel. May be better at weekend.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was very centrally located
This must once have been a beautiful hotel but is now badly in need of a major renovation We were unable to wait for the cooked breakfast because of the long waiting time required
Most thngs - room was good
Some of the food was only fair
Staff were lovely. Breakfast and Dinner although Buffet, were of good quality and plentiful. When we had room problem they upgraded us. When next room was a problem they gave complimentary wine & evening meal. They found things we'd los during 3 room changes & posted them on to us.
Door hanging off hindges to room. Upgraded to a better room, with 4poster bed, however no kettle and we only got one by 6pm (when we were out). Next day ceiling leaked above us soaking floor, so were moved to a suitable room. Because of room changes we left things behind us.
This hotel is a nightmare. From arrival into the reception we all new we were in trouble. Rooms were rubbish and one room we were given had floorboards missing and a coffee table on the bed. All in all a very very bad experience. We would never ever stay there again.
the hotel was very nice and staff
disco on till 3pm
The suite and whirlpool bath were excellent, Food was excellent, good choice, if a little unusual in its presentation (ie: each meal was serve yourself - in a hotel?). Wine choice was limited but very good value.
Unfortunate weekend, our room over main entrance, and hotel had is situated on busy main street, Sat night revellers were around till 4am.
The hotel was ideally placed for shops and promenade.the room we had was big with en suite and jacuzzi. The food was very good as were the staff.i would certainly recommend this hotel
I think their boilers need replaced.hot water took a while to come through.this was not really a problem and the pluses greatly outweighed any negatives
Central location. Free parking
Didn't like the fact we were turned away on some pretext when they didn't have the honesty to tell us they'd overbooked. Very shabby treatment from arrogant staff. would not go near this hotel chain again.
this hotel was not what the advertisement suggests. I requested a feature room and I got a squeaky bed freezing cold and damp room, smell was unbareable. reported it to management and no apology was given no adjustment offered. we had half board status and had to go to sister hotel food was bland and cold. would never return here again. discusting!
Location of the hotel - good for shops, bars, restaurants and sea front. Staff were polite when we complained and were happy to help.
Quality of bedrooms poor - need updating. Bad smell of cigarettes in one room despite being claiming to be a non smoking hotel. Hotel bar shut early at 10.30pm which was disappointing. Breakfast was poor. One of the rooms we booked was cold - the window would not close and the staff could not provide a heater - we are complaining.
Was a bit damp
Cleanliness. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Bed lumpy, bathroom tiny, tv ancient, no electricity after 7am as switched tripped and no phone to inform reception. Choice of food very poor although cooked well.
wet and damp smelly room asked for a twin room and got a double
Great location. Helpful staff.
Room's a bit dated in need of upgrading.
Breakfast and bars are good value
car parking a bit hit or miss.Hotel is looking tired
