Excellent value with swimming pool, steam room and sauna included. Very nice spacious en-suite room with tea tray. Good breakfast. Excellent Real Ale bar. Bar plays overload music and foyer can be busy with night clubbers on Saturday night. But there is a quite bar on the 1st floor. |

Upon arriving the check-in was seamless, the room was spotless, warm and welcoming, especially as there was a layer of snow outside!! The room was very spacious, the shower was powerful and the bed was very comfy - a good night's sleep!! |

It is supposed to be the friendliest hotel in Southport, but at reception I was mot attended to until the staff had finished talking between themselves ... mot a warm reception !! The room was cold {no central heating on in December} !!! It seems the hotel had just come back into operation after having been closed down for a week, due to some sort of bug. Based on that I would have expected a much better service.... Very disappointed !!! |

Lovely Hotel in a "Time Warp" A 10min wait for hot water at the sink and bath taps is not acceptable these days, let alone the amount of water that gets wasted |

Food in the Knights was very good and the £25 Friday night meal deal was excellent. You need to arrive early in the day to get an onsite parking space. |

Swimming pool was very good. Enjoyed sauna and steam room. 1. Extractor fan was immediatley out-side of my window so was noisey all night. 2. Advertised parking but was very limited. parked in bottom car park but when returned to car was surrounded by works vehicles and had been damaged. Took ages and a lot of help to extract my car from its boxed in position. 3. Duvet was stained. |

The convenience of the hotel in conjuction of the shopping, restaurants and Theatres was the only redeeming feature of the hotel. The restaurant for breakfast had disgusting plastic table cloths, from way back in time. The food was cold and hard. |

The comfort of the room and the size of the bedroom. The hotel has good facilities and is in an excellant location for both for business and leisure. All staff were friendly and would go out of the way to help people. |

Primarily its prime position on Lord Street. My wife & I also enjoyed the helpful & attentive staff at reception & in the restaurant at breakfast which incidentally was well organised & quite delicious.Upon returning from the theatre we enjoyed a late night drink in the Barons Bar with its wonderful choice of real ales. So far as our complaints below were concerned the manager expressed great concern & deducted 10% from our bill. We occupied Room 310 overnight and whilst it was clean & comfortable we did notice quite an unpleasant smell emanating I suspect from the drains.A further problem involved the lack of hot water for a shower in the evening resulting in my being obliged to boil the kettle in order to shave.A notice in the bathroom warned visitors that as we were some distance from the boiler on occasions guests were expected to run the water for a period of ten minutes.I followed the instructions & ran the water for 25 minutes and it was still barely lukewarm! Apart from the inconvenience and the environmentally unfriendliness of this situation I am afraid it is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. |

Good lounge bar with variety of real ales.Plenty of seating areas on floor levels.Good food and friendly staff. Located next door was a daytime bar which seemed to then turn into a very noisy night club banging out disco music till 4am .Hotel bars seemed to be aimed at local punters more than residents and could get rowdy. Not a family friendly hotel. |

Location very convenient and parking available. The hotel has seen better days. The room and breakfast were quite good, but downstairs and entrance were far removed from our memories of the 1940s/50s. Also water had to be run for too long before getting even warm. |

Very nice comfortable room of a decent size. Staff were friendly and helpful and tried to find out information about bus tours of Liverpool for me. Enjoyed the breakfasts I had there and the selection of fruits and yoghurts available at the breakfast buffet. When I ordered kippers for breakfast I was expecting to get a full kipper complete with backbone such as you might buy from a fishmonger, rather than a fillet. This is, however, a very minor quibble. |
