Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ... I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance . The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural. The town however was a little disappointing in terms of felt a bit run down and lacking in investment in some areas. Worth a visit altho not too long as I think more useful to use as a base to travel than a holiday in as wasn’t enough to offer.

As we were attending a wedding it was a good location for us but probably not the right time of year for shopping etc as most of the shops were empty or closed down. I'm sure its much better in the summer!

Ilfracombe town is a solid favourite of mine, boat trips, fish and chips by the harbour, walks, cream tea (hele corn mill). Watermouth Castle. Newly opened place to eat The Lime Kiln Cafe. Coastal walk to Hele. Chapel of St Nicholas

On arrival Andrew greeted us, showed us our room and offered us a Devon Tea with scones. Accomodation, spacious, spotlessly clean. Tasteful decor reflecting the hosts personal touches. Perfect location to walk to Ilfracombe’s highlights such as the tunnel beaches harbour and high street. Andrew and Nick are fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble. Lovely yummy breakfast.

plenty of choice and extremely well cooked and served breakfast. The location is perfect for local amenities and for getting around north Devon. only a short drive to beautiful Woolacombe beach, a place we have visited many times over 50 years. We ( a family of seven) have just had a wonderful three nights at Slipway. It is perfectly located to explore Ilfracombe and the wider sights of North Devon. The house is very spacious and very well equipped. The host was easy to communicate with and gave us great advice regarding where we could park etc.

Very nice hotel, with lots of original features, ongoing renovations but they don't impact on your stay. Nice airy rooms with excellent quality bed linen and towels, nice surprise was the small fridge, breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice, very pleasant walk into the centre of Ilfracombe

The hotel was selected as it needed to be near where my friends were staying. It was an ideal location within easy walking distance of all parts of the town. Unless venturing further afield there is no need for the car to move while staying in Ilfracombe with everything pretty much on the doorstep.

Really lovely property, great location for us, views of the sea and not far from harbour but also possible to get out of ilfracombe easily. Bed was very comfy. Warm and cozy which was great given we didn't have great weather. Need to bring passwords for Netflix etc but all there.

Beautiful, big and comfortable room in a lovely building, with staff offering a very friendly and efficient service. I feel it's the kind of place you could stay in for longer, as it's not cramped and situated in a nice part of Ilfracombe. I'm definitely recommending it to friends.

It was a good base in Devon for local attractions an Ilfracombe town. We had 3 separate rooms, ours being the studio with the sea view. This had been recently refurbished and was nice enough. The pool was good and the pool staff great.
