Attractive location in Peak District, vety friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast.
Quite some traffic in the morning, our bedroom facing the road.
Loved everything! Made me feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble! Gluten free breakfast was awesome!!!!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful as we were not familiar to the area. Will be returning
This is the cleanest friendliest place that we have ever stayed in. We were so impressed back in January, that we rebooked without hesitation. And will continue to do so.
Nothing. It's absolutely spot-on! Don't change a thing!!
Welcomed with a pot of tea and biscuits/cake. Big comfy leather chairs and sofas in a quiet room to relax on a very wet afternoon. Very attentive and friendly staff. Excellent food.
Everything was perfect no dislikes at all.
Everything was clean and fresh. Lee was very welcoming and proficient and the location is ideal for the area.
We arrived after a difficult first day on the Pennine Way we arrived at the Windy Harbour Hotel to a very warm welcome. We were shown to our very clean room and given fresh milk for tea. We asked about food and were told they didn't serve dinner on Sunday evenings (disaster!) but the chef was still there so they asked him to stay on a bit and we had a fantastic meal. The breakfast was really nice too.
Everything. Before I booked I read previous reviews which said it was fabulous and it didn't let me down in any way. Very nice friendly owners. looking forward to my next visit.
If you are wanting to stay in the Glossop area head for WHFH,lovely family owned business, the owners couldn't do enough to make my stay with then enjoyable, i had to work late before I checked in at 2230,they still managed to make me a lovely ploughman's plate for my evening meal at that time of night.Lovely room into the bargain. EXCELLENT.
Friendly, clean and very comfy. Good food. Lift to/from the Penine Way can be arranged with the hotel.
Friendly service, clean, comfortable rooms, excellent food and drink. Tranquil gardens and picturesque views. Who could ask for more! So very pleased to have found this little piece of heaven. Our thanks to all members of staff for looking after us so well.
Can't think of anything we didn't like other than the fact that we had to leave and come back home
The location is good.
The room was a little narrow.
Highly attentive staff, stunning location, beautiful building, rooms and grounds, nice grub!
Nothing, it was perfect for our romantic, relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life
Very nice staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable clean beds. Close to peak district attractions.
Shower was a power shower. But could have been more powerful. However this maybe because I'm used to a really powerful shower.
A lovely hotel with such friendly staff, so helpful. Breakfast was delicious with generous portions. Scenery outside was beautiful.
Friendly welcome. Comfortable room. Vey appetising breakfast! No fussing. Super location and views from window and dining room.
Rather steep, narrow stairs to bedroom floor (Both my wife and I are quite elderly).
Small room and tiny bathroom
The Hotel was lovely with stunning views. The breakfast was great with real coffee. Graham was very helpul. If we need to be in this area again we will defiantly be staying here.
Nothing we didn't like
Friendly staff & great food
Very welcoming and very helpful. Comfortable little hotel in a fabulous location.
Breakfast would have been improved by better quality fresh juice and more fresh fruit
Stayed the night after a family party and was very impressed. The staff were attentive and efficient and the facilities were clean. The catering was superb, both at the buffet in the evening and for breakfast next morning.
Friendly reception though the weather was lousy. The proprietor updated his WiFi which now has perfect reception throughout the building (in contrast to some earlier comments). Were I to stay in the Peak District again, I would know where.
Lovely location, nice clean comfortable room.
Food mediocre, scrambled egg like leather.
From the moment Julie welcomed us with a cuppa and scones warm from the oven, we knew we'd found a gem! The room was immaculate, the food both in the evening and at breakfast was excellent - but it was the personal service and attention to detail that really made this place stand out. Highly recommended, and we hope to make plenty of return visits!
