The owners; very welcoming & very professional. The rooms are a little cramped but it is a small country hotel; for a short stay no problem.

The staff were immediately welcoming upon arrival, and was offered some delicious food to settle in. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the shower was something I'd have expected at a luxury hotel. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional.

We were there for a wedding and took over the entire hotel. Graham, Lee and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating to all requests. The location is fantastic and the small hotel was ideal. The weather was rather too cold, but that was not the fault of the hotel, and at least we didn't get snowed in like the previous Saturday's wedding party.

My purpose for visiting was for a business meeting and whilst Windy Harbour Farm Hotel wasn't the closest option to my final destination, based on reviews from other visitors and accompanied by a competitive price it felt like a good option to try. I am so glad I did rather than opt for other alternatives or chain hotels in the area. At Windy Harbour Farm Hotel, it literally felt like home away form home... With a wonderfully warm welcome by the owners as if I were an old friend and an instant tour of the facilities before being shown to my room, I was absorbed seamlessly in to the environment. I found them to be very accommodating on requirements, bedding was high quality, soft and clean (believe me, this is something to mention!). Food was superbly cooked, I felt like royalty. Although I do not get to visit the area often, the next time I do I will definitely be considering Windy Harbour Farm Hotel as my first option. Keep up the great work! I can't really place a negative comment as the stay was the nearest thing to perfect, however my only recommendation is to improve the WiFi signal strength in the room. I was able to connect and work without any major issue, great perfect for my business purposes (and it was free), however the connection could be a little better.

We have stayed here before so know the area and hotel well, out in the countryside just ouside Glossop town center so you need transport, at the start of the peak district so some lovely places to visit..start the day with a lovely full English breakfast, the people we met we're welcoming and friendly, there is a bar on site and they serve evening meals ,wish we had pre booked a meal, nice to relax when you have been out and about ,we would recommend this small and friendly hotel.

I liked the look of the bar area. Entrance was nice Sewell. Shower didn't work properly, even on cold it was scolding hot. Toilet backed-up and was in a way accused of doing something to the room because "it worked fine yesterday".

Lovely location. Friendly, obliging staff. Loved the dogs and the cat. Room (6) a little cramped. Needs a privacy strip down the frame of the sliding door which also need a bottom runner. The stairs are horribly steep when carrying luggage, but accept this is probably insurmountable.

Convenient for western side of the Peak District with excellent views all round due to its elevated position. We thought this was a hotel with a small "h" but it offers more than most B & B`s as it has a large function room/bar area with a good sized breakfast room on the other side of the house. The owner and his family were friendly, chatty, helpful and took obvious pride in the business. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the gardens well kept and sheltered (its not called Windy Ridge by accident). The hotel was only a 5 min drive out of Glossop on the A6105 which suited us as we went into town for a meal in the evening. This road leads to the Snake Pass so if you like the sound of motorbikes this is second heaven which was not a problem for us. This is not easy to say given the above but as a Bed and Breakfast it fails to deliver which is a real pity. The rooms are small with the en-suite built in to one side. Everything works but we have stayed in better caravans. You could hear the sound of the Vent Axia from the next door room which fortunately for us we did not have anybody in the attached room with a bladder problem. Still the view was nice and you could watch the traffic motoring by. The rooms lacked a womens touch and in my opinion ALL hotel and B&B owners should be made to stay for at least two days in every room in the house as its the only way to find out that there is nowhere to put anything as there are no shelves, the TV has a irritating habit of going on the blink and the bed although comfy is pretty bouncy but I guess that might be a bonus. Although we did not have the full breakfast both the poached eggs and the scrambled eggs were overcooked and we were the first in so not encouraging. The menu for the evening was pretty basic and not that cheap which is why we pushed off into see the faded charms that Glossop had to offer. The chef`s` speciality was Chicken Kiev which just about summed it up, Its all a bit 80`s and things need to move on which I sure the owners recognise as they know the rooms are a bit past it but a killer breakfast using local suppliers would compensate which would be easy to sort we thought. If I did not live so far away I would offer my services as a cook. It could be great but its only a 6 out of 10 for us.

Secluded and quiet, the facilities were welcoming and bright, the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. On the outskirts of Glossop, it was a walkable distance from the town centre (?2 miles), though the first half mile had no footpath so I wouldn't recommend walking at night. The views were magnificent. They also have a camping facility which I might try sometime. I would recommend this place to friends and family alike. The window for breakfast is small...7.30 to 9.00 so there's no sleeping in, and you are expected to vacate on your day of departure by 10.00am.

A really friendly welcome and a much needed cup of tea on arrival. The decor was a bit tired. Thankfully we had a mid week break. Would not have been happy if we were there when a wedding/function was taking place.

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Children loved the Alpacas. Although the hotel only had six bedrooms the dining/breakfast room accomodated many more people because they do do functions such as weddings, but I beleive when they do so generally all the rooms are let to function attendees. Full cooked breakfast was included in the price we paid and also included tea/coffee/toast/fruit and cereals. Would definately stay here again, works out much better value than Travellodges were we stayed on other nights as we were touring arround the Peak District.
