Boot and shoe pub was a great overnight stay. The friendly owners and staff made you feel very welcome. The accomodation was very comfortable and the food was good. The atmosphere in the bar was great. It seems to be one of the pubs in UK that is doing well and providing a good service to it's customers.Even Tarzan likes the place. Great stay. Highly Recommended

Extremely noisy - although it was a pub and St Georges day and so celebrations were to be expected also apologies were made. However, in the morning there were barrels being replaced and thrown around for approximately 1 hour from 6.30am which was a little early and seeing as the room has single glazed windows it did not shield from the noise.

Lovely room, quaint friendly village, great food, a shame Greystoke Castle wasn't open.

Food was excellent and the whole stay was really good value for money in a great location despite the rain. Staff were friendly and I had a wonderful cooked breakfast included in the rate to start off the day.

Staff were the friendliest most accomodating I have ever met and the locals welcome you as if they had known you for years. Food was excellent - good choice and quality.

Not great value for money. Small shower room; wash basin in bedroom; room was above main bar so pretty noisy until after midnight. Food OK but unexceptional.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great pub atmosphere. Very "country". Good quality pub food, large and varied menu. All fresh cooked, local ingredients. Very welcoming for our dog who travelled with us.

Pretty well everything. Delightful location, excellent reasonably priced food. Friendly proprietors and staff, clean well sized rooms. Would definitely go back, and would recommend to others.

Nothing to dislike really. The only thing was that because of the configuration of the bathroom, there was no room for an overhead shower. You either had to have a bath, which there isn't time for sometimes, or a hand held shower which is not ideal. This is a minor quibble though in comparison to the good things I describe above.

Friendly welcome, very clean room, good bed, bathroom/shower. Good breakfast. Very popular local pub which serves meals. Food is good, generous helpings, does not pretend to be anything it is not. Super location for North Lakes, close enough to M6 to be a cost effective alternative to budget chain hotels

Be aware that it is an old building so noise travels from bars to the bedrooms above.

Quiet village setting. Friendly hosts. Excellent food, evening meal and breakfast.
