The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean although we thought quite small. Found the breakfast to be basic with quite small portions. I had the choice of a full breakfast but chose to have the sausage, bacon and egg. When it arrived i was quite disappointed to get 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon and 1 egg, which were just warm. Thought this was quite measly considering the price we were paying. |

The hotel was within easy reach of the city centre, 10 Minutes walk to York Minster and the Shambles We were unfortunate enough to be accomodated in the attic room, only a roof light window and very stuffy although a rather noisy air con unit was provided. |

The staff were great, and the breakfast was fantastic. Friendly atmosphere, extra coffee, etc. available from a basket on the stairs. Not too far out of town (not all that close, though!). If you're walking from the station, go through Museum Gardens, out onto Marygate, turn right (past the church), then left at the top - much more scenic than the suggested route! Nothing major, although it should be noted that the bathroom and toilet are two floors down from the single room, which could be a problem for some travellers - especially at night. Also, you can't pay with a credit/debit card at the hotel, despite what it says on the booking.com web page (they do make this clear on the confirmation letter, though) |

The welcome; the food (the portions of which were just right - there was no hint of "never mind the quality, feel the width", the service was very professional without being impersonal and it was ideally located for the city centre just a ten minute walk away. |

Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They gave us a map of the city and told us about interesting places to visit, eat out, etc. Excellent location and the breakfast was fabulous with loads of choice. |

There is nothing we did not like. The whole house was very clean and functional. The staff could not be bettered if you stayed at The Ritz. The room was clean and comfortable with tea, coffee and biscuits should you want them. The website claimed that the guest house was ten minutes walk from York centre; this is an accurate claim., A good experience which we hope to repeat. |

We can't fault the guest house on anything, staff were very friendly and helpful, the room very comfortable, everything was scrupulously clean, the facilities excellent and breakfast delicious and plentiful! A real find, can't wait for our next visit. |
