Good,
Score from 63 reviews
This family-run budget hotel is conveniently located close to Edinburgh and next to the Forth Road Bridge and the Forth Rail Bridge; Rosyth is only a few minutes away. The hotel is close to the ferry terminal and is only 550 yards or so from Inverkeithing station. A bus runs regularly between the station and Edinburgh Airport. Trains also run frequently to the city of Edinburgh itself. Kinross is only 20 minutes away, making the hotel a great base for those attending the T in the Park music festival. As reflected in the price, the hotel’s rooms are not large. However, all of the rooms have private bathrooms and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel’s public areas and there is also free parking. Hotel Rooms: 28 Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 09:44 from Turkey.

The Boreland Lodge was a quaint hotel in an ideal location, being about a two minute walk from the train and bus station. The staff were so chatty and welcoming and extremely accomodating. There was a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning and free WiFi. The rooms were a comfortable size and fully equipped with standard emenities. We loved being so close to Edinburgh and we were also a half hour train ride from the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick. If you are looking for a lovely place to stay that is friendly and afforable, then this is the perfect location! Love the American Girls.

The price of course was great! Our room was spacious enough for three adults to move around without tripping on each other. Quiet area with very little traffic noise if any. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Needs better lighting. The little led lights installed in the bath and bedroom are not effective. Dinner is not served at all and there is a very limited selection in the vacinity for an evening meal.

It was adequate for our needs There appeared to be only 1 member of staff who was on duty doing everything booking bar service and cooking breakfast which we felt was overpriced and was overcooked and cold

Arrived to find workers making final touches to an extensive makeover. Greeted by the proprietor, Savita who was keen to show me what they'd done to transform the hotel. They'd obviously invested heavily in transforming the hotel, particularly the reception, bar, and lounge areas. Very chic and modern, individually designed and welcoming. Savi couldn't hide her enthusiasm and was really passionate about what she'd achieved! It did look rather nice! I had a double room, although not huge, it was clean, comfortable, and nicely presented. The ensuite was very smart with a proper walk-in shower cubicle and a decent shower. TV reception was very good and all freeview channels were available. Internet access was quick and reliable even in the room. All the staff were very helpful and the breakfast (served in a separate dining room) was very good. Plenty of free on-site parking available. Currently, the hotel doesn't offer evening meals, but there's a good selection in the local town which is just a few minutes walk away. On Savi's recommendation, I went over to the Clubhouse in Dalgety Bay for dinner which is very stylish with good food at reasonable prices. It was a nice evening so I walked which took me about 20 minutes. The Boreland is really good value for money, perfectly located for Dunfermline and the Rosyth areas (which is where I was working) and is well-connected by train for Edinburgh and beyond should you be doing the touristy stuff. If I'm working in the area again would definitely go back. Thanks Savi, Kamil, and Liviu, for a great stay! Can't think of anything negative to say!

The room was cold and the heating was off when i came so i was unable to dry my soakingly wet shoes, and it was freezing. Luckily the receptionist organized a portable heater, which helped. The linen was dirty and stained, i even wondered if it was changed at all from previous inhabitant. So were towels. When i moved the bed closer to the heater there was solid dirt behind it with used napkin and other stuff. The internet was only working at the reception.

Excellent welcome, and staff. Room was small and basic but comfortable. Recently refurbished, but finishing touches still need to be done (I.e paint on the back of the bathroom door, and silicone on the tiles etc). But overall a great place to stay, would deffinatly stay again P.s breakfast was good too

Leaving there I got absolutely no sleep as I was on the ground floor and the fire doors are very squeaky and I heard every arrival and departure of every guest throughout the night and morning as well as the people above my head

The hotel is very well situated and caters for everyones needs, it is only a short distance from beach and seaside facilities, country side walks, city shopping and historical sites. The staff are very friendly and make you feel really welcome, there is ample car parking facilities at the hotel and the decking area outside offers the chance to sit in peaceful surroundings in the evening. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, be it for business or pleasure

It was convenient to the Edinburgh airport. The desk clerk was pleasant. The room was clean, but the building was generally run down. It was incredibly overpriced for what it is. At 106 pounds, it was shockingly poor value for money. It is old and threadbare. The beds were extremely uncomfortable - we got very little sleep. My son complained of springs sticking him all over his bed. The hotel is located in a residential area in a town that has seen better days.
