All I will say is if there is any confusion over your room booking, get something in writing before you agree to anything.
Now,...I ADMIT, and I am really sorry that as a customer I was really stupid, firstly I booked a double, then as my mum asked to come with us, I cancelled the first room and secured a quadruple to fit her in.
When the new booking confirmation was received, for some reason it stated the quad room was for one person, this was easy to update via the link booking.com provided, and so I changed the number of people to 3,
Now, Booking.com lets you amend your booking, free of change, I amended my booking. I had assumed that as I received an email confirming these transactions and the fact they keep 15% of the cost that as their customer I didn't need to do anymore than this..
The owner called me, I do not recall the exact conversation (which is where I recommend get everything in writing) but we had originally had 3 nights with an en-suite room at £150, he said for some reason there had been some amendments and that he had assumed we had cancelled and that he had given our room away. As it wasn't our fault, if we still wanted to stay at his hotel, then we could have a room without an en-suite for quote 'fifty quid'.
He was kind enough to offer me a few days to think about this, which I did. Clearly this is too good an offer to turn down based on the inconvenience, Our priority was a toilet, but at this late stage in the school holidays with not much about I accepted over the phone.
