Breakfast was fab, grounds were lovely.
claterring noises when people came in late.
Nice grounds and location Quiet at night
Room and bathroom very dated and hot. A room request which we made was ignored despite confirming the request with reception by telephone prior to travelling. Quality of the evening meal was poor and expensive for what it was. No draught beer
Location was handy, staff very good, especially Giodano. Wild animal farm with an excellent choice of outdoor seating, one in the middle of a lake. Room large and updated tastefully, overlooking large rear lawns. Breakfast in the room pleasant. Tennis court and outdoor pool.
Beer selection was not to my taste, menu limited to fixed price three course but they did do a desert for me after I dined elsewhere.
Location, very quiet, ok clean, good price
Super outdated place, carpets in the room were old and dirty, everything was old and worn, breakfast choice quite limited
The friendly staff, beautiful grounds, breakfast, cleanliness
shabbiness of room, holes in the curtains, rotten skirting boards and shower that was old and difficult to use with leaking
Location for my purposes was ideal. Booked early so price was reasonable.
Room a little tired and could do with a makeover.
Breakfast was beautiful.
Very dated interior, had to pay on arrival. Room 12 very noisy and hot. Bathroom door didn't close. Room lock broken. Shower attached to taps and didn't sit properly so only washed half your body at a time.
The staff and particularly the manager couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Was pleasantly surprised to find farm animals (kept in wonderfully spaceous surroundings) on site and chickens who provided fresh eggs for beakfast every day. The pool was fabulous. A great place for children - lots of garden and some climbing frames. I would definitely stay there again.
The Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was good Bedroom was large and bed was comfortable.
Toilet would not flush properly despite a repair being done, the handle was falling off.The basin tap was very loose.
The staff were very helpful and friendly The room was spacious and quiet The grounds were extensive and a pleasure to walk round The breakfasts were delicious with a good choice for evening meal Overall I could recommend a stay here
The room was quite hot at night with no fan or air conditioning and only one small opening window. The bathroom was a little tired and in need of a refurb.
Delightful grounds with animals in abundance and lots of quiet hidden places to sit, reflect and enjoy the tranquil setting.Plus a lovely outdoor pool and tennis court makes for a great base to enjoy for its own sake and also to explore the lovely seaside resorts nearby.
Not very much to be honest -the outside courtyard rooms are being refurbished and there is much attention being paid to the details.
The grounds are very good excellent for a relaxing weekend. The staff are very helpful and professional, yet friendly. the breakfast was excellent but the main menu was not very ambitious but there are local pub restaurants to chose form
The room finish was disappointing small things let it down. The wardrobe would not close, no covers on the bed base that looked tatty. Unfinished repair work on the dining room ceiling.
The location is good for me as my son & family live a short drive away. The hotel has had a 'makeover' since my stay in June 2012 & the gardens look great. Lovely to see guests eating breakfast on the patio. The staff could not have been more helpful, all extremely polite
My first night Sat 2 August was a bit noisy with lots of doors banging - room 7 was a lovely size but next to the fire door so it could have been that banging that kept me awake until until after 1 o'clock in the morning but Sunday night when the hotel was quieter it was fine. Difficulty getting in & out of the bath which was rather deep, would have preferred a walk in shower. Breakfast on Sunday was disappointing - lots of choice but cooked breakfast in heated containers in my opinion is disappointing because it is never very hot plus the plates were cold. Almost didn't get a cooked breakfast on Monday as the chef arrived late so waited an hour before it was served.
Lovely room. Clean. Comfy beds. Helpful staff. Friendly staff
Location & grounds
Needs a cash injection to upgrade everything. Electric socket in our room was hanging off the wall - health &safety issue.
I arrived late at night and my room was like an oven. The weather was exceptionally hot but no window had been opened. I had to leave my door open for a couple of hours to let the heat out. Breakfast was not ready at 7.30am as I told & consequently I had to leave for business without any. I do not think this hotel is prepared for the business traveller.
The grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was dated but the shower was very powerful.
Thought the room was tired. The bed head was broken. The breakfast was not the best. As it was help yourself the eggs bacon etc was tough. The dining room felt dated. The whole hotel needs an up to date makeover.
Breakfast excellent value, dinner also good value.
Very hot in room no A/c .
No atmosphere, lack of staff who seemed very overstretched and a very "corporate" rather than personal feel.
Location, friendly helpful attitude of staff, breakfast
Room dilapidated, needs complete refurbishment. No mechanical ventilation. Only one chair in a room for two. Quilt far too small for the bed. Very expensive for what it is.
The beautiful surroundings, and the helpful, very friendly staff
Bathroom a little dated. Taps very stiff
Grounds Breakfast lady
Not a very solid wi-fi in the room
