Boston Court Hotel  

Although this hotel could not be classified by any means as plush it was clean and served a purpose for one night of having somewhere to sleep, within minutes of our intended destination as well as a short walk from Marble Arch and Oxford Street. There is no breakfast room at this hotel but a modest (and suffficient) continental style breakfast consisting of boiled egg, toast/butter and tea was brought on a tray to our room (in our case on the top floor). Coffee and tea making facilities were also provided in the room. The room was very modest with a wash basin and a shower unit in the corner. Unfortunately, the drain of the shower smelt a little but I informed the cleaning lady she would need to put a substantial amount of bleach down. Although I have no objection to using a shared toilet facility, particularly when I was informed this would be the case, unfortunately, because of an old drainage system, guests are advised not to put toilet paper down the toilets as it causes blocking and to put in the small bins. This for most people would be a quite disgusting propostiion and also be considered a potential health hazard. It cannot be very nice for the staff (who have to empty the bins) either. The front of the building could do with a coat of paint to make it a little less shabby looking. Indeed, although the rooms are clean and the very nice and personable cleaning lady worked hard to keep them so, the whole interior could do with a good lick of white paint just to give it a lift. The building will I am sure be listed which means there are limits to the amount of modernisation that can be achieved. However, having stayed fairly recently in an 18th century immaculate town house in Edinburgh I would ask the owner of this hotel to urgently spend some money on updating the drainage and put a more up-to-date shower unit in the room, as only good will come of such action. The reception team were very helpful and friendly.

I have already covered this question above. I would recommend this hotel on the understanding that with the current drainage problems and toilet facility it really is only suitable for one or two nights stay. Once these matters have been dealt with I would be happy to stay longer because it is so convenient for the West End, Paddington, and the reason we were in the area we were in.

Close to the city centre, and value for the money. I will recommend this hotel.

The location was excellent.

Cannot write anything positive. Dated and awful. Badly run. Although budget priced this should be so much better. Didn't bother with breakfast.

Jag har bott på väldigt sunkiga hotell i London och är van vid Engelsk standard, men detta var det sunkigaste och snuskigaste av dem alla. Mitt rum låg på bottenvåningen med fönster ut mot gatan. fönstret gick inte att stänga och varje dag när jag kom hem och städerska varit där stod det vidöppet! Trottoaren var precis utanför så man kunde bara sticka in handen och ta vad man ville.. Väldigt lyhört. Hade tre TV-kanaler, alla på arabiska.. När jag skulle betala för rummet (med kort) kikade receptionisten i min plånbok och såg att jag hade kontanter och bad mig betala med dom istället.. Varför?!

Good location - Very friendly woman at the desk

In need of towels - one towel for three people. Painting of bathtub during our stay so we couldn't bath for a day.
