Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel

Sehr schöne Hotelanlage. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist mit Müsli, frischem Obst und Säften recht übersichtlich. Man kann sich jedoch bestellen, was man möchte - in Englisch. Der Kaffe war o.k. und das Toast recht lecker. Kinder können zu bestimmten Zeiten den Pool nutzen.

Der vor den Gästen an seinen Nägeln kauende Kellner! Überhaupt fehlte es den Kellnern an know how. In jedem Pub wurden wir freundlicher und schneller bedient. Tische abräumen und eindecken... das kann man doch noch machen, wenn die Gäste kommen. Die heruntergefallene Gabel stört auch nicht.

The overall friendliness of the staff, especially Kelly as we had to leave earlier than we planned due to a problem at home, in the rush we left some clothes in the room and to be honest we didn't know until she contacted us, we confirmed they were ours and she arranged to post them to us, which we have received and I have phoned the hotel to leave a message of our thanks.

Just a minor thing regarding the bar, I know the staff have to learn but I would suggest training in inter personal skills and how to make their customers feel part of the hotel and just not a casual visitor off the street. A nice large bar with nice furniture but no coasters on the table, therefore the tables ends up with drip marks and condensation. A few nuts, cheese biscuits etc would be nice on the tables and bars.

the rooms were large and well presented, however some of the furniture was becoming tired. the cark park was flooded and there were cigarette ends around the main entrance.

Blankets - I prefer a duvet but this is a minor point.

Location was stunning. Relaxing bar / lounge area.

Restaurant could do with a little more atmosphere.

already complained about the bed which was tortuously uncomfortable, far too old, am having problems finding person to complain to.

most of the staff were very friendly

several light bulbs not working. Extractor fan in bathroom not working. Due to disability unable to climb into bath for a shower.. Table in bar sticky and full of crumbs. At dinner catch of the day - only 1 left (so on which day was the catch?) then ordered 3 duck dishes, but could only get 2. At breakfast were told it was cold only, but if I found nothing to my liking, could wave to waitress, who would arrange for something hot. There was very little: cereal,some yoghurt,some fruit and a few slices of brown bread. I ordered some fried bread and fried eggs and received a very small half slice of bread with an egg on top. Coffee was undrinkable as the milk was on the point of turning sour.

Friendly staff. Large rooms. Free WiFi. I ate in the restuarant in the evening and the food and service was good. Cooked breakfast was OK, although the service was a bit slow.
