Every effort has been made to maintain the estate in keeping with its original style. In the grounds, the extensive borders and herbaceous gardens have been replanted with traditional Victorian specimens. Ornamental garden furniture, follies and pavilions have been carefully restored.

A wide range of indoor and outdoor activities are available for children, catering for all ages.

The swimming pool, housed in the Orangery opens onto the sun terrace and outdoor pool with stunning views of the National Park.

An extensive menu of nearly 50 health and beauty treatments is on offer.

Food & beverage

The Edwardian Grill Restaurant is fitted in the style of a 1920s Art Deco Palm Court, containing chinoiserie hand-painted wall coverings. Meals are prepared using fresh local produce wherever possible, creating innovative seasonal menus that utilise estate-grown herbs, honey and vegetables. The restaurant has fine wines from the superb cellar, presented by the hotel’s own sommelier. (Open Thursday - Monday).

The more informal Castle Bistro offers food throughout the day, with everything from coffee and pastries, to dinner. With a relaxing atmosphere, the bistro is ideal for a snack after golf, or lunch. The bistro has a special children's menu. (Open every day).

Drinks can be taken in the lively Oak Room and Piano bar, with relaxing music. Around 150 different cocktails are offered. Wine Tasting takes place in the cellar every evening.

From the M4/ M6/ M1/ M42:
- Proceed to the M5, heading south towards Devon and the West Country.
- Take junction 31, signposted Okehampton.
- Follow the A30 for about 12 miles and take the 3rd junction (the 2nd junction is closed)
- Exit at this junction and follow signs for Moretonhampstead.
- Turn right in Moretonhampstead (passing the White Hart Hotel on the left) and head towards Postbridge on the B3212.
- Bovey Castle is nearly 2 miles from Moretonhampstead, on the left-hand side, marked by large wrought iron gates and a Gate Lodge.
