Everything was wonderful at this lovely rural hotel but so close to Durham.

Excellent Hotel; staff very helpful excellent resstaurant. I've been staying here on and off for twenty years now and never had a bad experience. Can't recommend it highly enough.

One set of towels for 2 people. 2nd floor room offered as disco on til midnight but room was over the top of it anyway. Shower poor and plug didn't work in the bath

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise on our way to Scotland. A very spacious car park. The room was well appointed, and very quiet. The staff especially in the bar/breakfast room were very helpful indeed. It was very pleasant to have breakfast in the conservatory.

Good location for exploring Durham and surrounding area. Hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were very pleasant.

a fantastic little hide away, lovely setting, fantastic building, friendly staff. We were given the honeymoon sweet a nice suprise

Overall, the hotel was good value for money.

Apart from breakfast on Wednesday morning, the service was very slow (? not enough staff). Service at breakfast on Thursday morning was particularly poor.

Close to Durham, Nicely cooked Breakfast, spacious rooms, friendly

in the middle of housing estate, however this had no effect on views or the actual overnight stay, hotel restaurant menu seemed expensive so we went to a pub for our evening meal

I like the staff, especially the manager that works on a night shift. Very warm and helpful.

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Nice to be able to have a drink in the bar. Would stay here again and probably have an evening meal as the food looked good.

Last down to breakfast but even though there was still half an hour to go there wasn't a table set and no one around so had to find clean cups etc from other dirty tables. Waitress was apologetic but then disappeared and not seen again so had to ask cleaner for some hot water and switch toaster back on. Just a bit disappointing.

Guest being allowed to smoke in doorway on arrival Breakfast could have done with more attention to detail from staff, toast ran out , had to ask for more coffee etc, food good though.

quiet setting, and dining room was very good--coffee/tea facilities good--parking very good. efficient check in and check out

we came from consett direction and missed the turn by the garage as no sign

Have stayed several times and as always was welcoming and excellent value for money.

Unfortunately they had run out of croissants for breakfast, but otherwise no complaints!

Arrived at 20.45 to be told chef just packing away, all we could have for Dinner was a beef bagutte and chips and that it would be ready in 5 minutes.. Hadn't even been to room yet. Bathroom was colder than outside, and it was -4 outside.. No radiatir in bathroom!!

Good stopping off point on journey home from Scotland after New Year. Easy to get to from motorway. Very good value for money. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Staff freindly and helpful. Food in restaurant was good.

Lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, our room was lovely, very clean n comfortable. When booking i emailed the hotel n requested one of their more modern rooms and they met my request! Room 15.
