Bowen House  

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Never felt hurried, nothing was too much trouble. Nice distance from the town centre not too far, not too close. Everything!!

This small hotel has all you need to enjoy some time in York. The beds were very comfortable and not cheap. The tv was the latest flat screen with dvd player built in. Tea and coffee hot chocolate in the room with pkts of luxury biscuits ..lovely style.Breakfast are quality above small hotel standard, fresh fruit cereals prunes, full breakfast or any combination of whatever you want. The breafast room is small but not cramped, with little nic nacs around the place bought from classy York gift shops. The people are very warm and very helpful regarding where to go what to see. Lovely atmosphere in the whole place. We are visiting relatives at Christmas time in York and have booked in for Christmas eve and Christmas night we are really looking forward to it.

Proximity to cty of York. Quiet at night. Lovely breakfast room. Helpful proprietor (Dianne). York is brilliant...you could spend a whole day exploring York Minster then another day exploring everything else...at least! It is a very good-sized town to walk around.

Everything was fine...we had to put the suitcase under the bed in the twin room due to lack of floor space but it worked out OK.

This is a very good standard guest house which is run by a very helpful lady (didn't see her husband who was away). You get exactly what it says on the packet - location is about 10 walk from the minster, on the corner of a quiet road and a busy road. Traffic noise was not a problem whilst we were there and the free parking was a important reason why we choose this B + B. The breakfast was excellent and the room we had (room 5) was on the top floor and was roomy and comfortable. We had to walk back into the city center for an evening meal as there are no pubs close which serve meal at night - not really a dislike but is something to be considered if you want to just walk round the corner for a meal.

Lovely House and a very nice lady. Really clean place and a breakfast worth the trip alone .highly recommended.

I visited York with my 9 year old daughter,and originally chose Bowen House as it was in a good location,close to city centre etc.I would definitely recommend Bowen House,and I would definitely return! It was clean,comfortable and everything the website said and more! Breakfast was lovely and made to order,and there was not any part of my 2 night stay that i can fault! A lovely friendly comfy house where nothing was too much trouble! Going to York? Check-in to Bowen House!

A very clean and well presented guest house,it is well equipped with all mod cons,and other useful items,peter and diane are extremely friendly and helpful,and the breakfast experience is well worth getting up for,a great choice of breakfasts and nothing seemed to be too much trouble,i slept comfortably and found it nice and quiet,and would definately stay again.

Bowwn House ligger I fin gå afstand til centrum af York og ligger ugeneret. Det var en meget venlig værtspar og udemærkede faciliteter - et besøg mere værd synes vi.

Stedet hadde en hyggelig atmosfære. Vertskapet var svært vennelige og imøtekommende. Fikk god informasjon om York. Stedet kan absolutt anbefales.

Room facilities,such as good tv,radio,shower sundries. Hard but comfy bed,quite location even though we were on the front facing the main road. Lovely breakfast,spotlessly clean

The one big put off is the ensuite, to say it was small is an under statement & would be the only reason why I will not book here again
