The staff were excellent and helpful. I drove up from Southend, as soon as I arrived I felt relaxed and was greeted by a lovely polite lady. The food is right for me and the hotel is always clean and tidy. I travel to Manchester three to four times a year and will always try to stay at this hotel because of the way I have been treated in the past

Room badly in need of refurbishment. Unclean and tatty, cold shower. Absolutely no sound proofing in room, wedding party booked in until 1am, meaning room literally jumped and vibrated with disco music until party was over. Would not stay here again, definitely worth paying extra ten pounds for clean, soundproofed WhiteGate Premier Travel Inn down the road.

Was close to amenities. Loads of parking space. Food was good. Swipe card was great. Liked the shower gel selection and complimentary pack. Room was not warm enough, Decoration was dated. Nice features but not well maintained. Bar staff could be better informed about their wine selections. Noisy toilet system - sounded like it would wake the whole floor with the noise it made

The welcome was warm and friendly with offers of help without having to ask. This sensitivity to customers' needs is rather rare so a very welcomed surprise. Pleasant atmosphere in the bar and a varied selection of meals on offer. Overall an enjoyable stay; thank you.

The general layout of the hotel,we were staying as our friends were having their wedding there. It was good to have our room away from the noise. The breakfast was good and the service prompt. The drinks were epensive but overall bill good quality for the money. The entrance doorway looks shabby and the reception area a bit off putting on arrival. The general feel of the hotel is a bit dated and shabby. There is a smell from the carpets too when you go to the rooms, and I do not remember seeing a lift.

Did not get the room I booked on line. Booked a Executive Double Room. But only got a standard Double Room. They say they messed up the booking and had no Executive Double for me.

The location is good for my business trip. Staff are great and the rooms are in the process of being revamped so as long as you get a newish one you are ok The bathroom was newly fitted and very spacious however the water flow in the shower was terribly slow. Had to use the bath to rinse hair.

Recently taken over so in transition but staff were very welcoming and the hotel is very comfortable with character rather than the bigger 'faceless' chains Much of the furnishings are still to be upgraded following the take over. The public areas in particular are in need of refurbishing, they are quite shabby.

All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and cannot praise them enough. The actually seemed to 'like their work' and working together, which may sound like the basics but believe me you dont always get it everywhere else, inc some top end hotels. Sincere and helpful, thans again guys.

Its an old place. Very antique and personal. The room is clean but hv problem with the toilet bowl. My view is the garden which is very refreshing. I dont expect much from a hotel. So this hotel has everything I needed. However, maybe the hotel can do better on the wifi connection in the rooms. As the wifi is chargable where hotels now I think should have a wifi as a necessity. this hotel is located far from the city. u need to get on transport to do that. but its near to Morisson. so, u can get stuff from there. i think, i would stay at others if others are available.

The upgrade room. Scruffily dressed restaurant staff, unattentive and elusive, chattering about colleagues, wages etc. Breakfast on first morning swimming in fat, stuck to omelette for rest of stay. Member of staff simply knocked on the door and entered the room without waiting for response. Noisy pipes in first room with toilet smelling of urine, then offered identical room in same old block. Finally upgraded to room in new block.

We was looking for a Manchester City Centre Hotel but they were all expensive and did not have rooms for 3. There was 7 off us and it cost £36.00 return for a mini bus to the Palace Theater which was only a fiver each. The hotel is comfortable with a nice bar and the breakfast was excellent. If there is a wedding on the room can be noisy at night but the music did not go on too late . I would stay here again rather than the City Centre.

The staff were helpful and friendly especially the restaurant staff and reception they could not have done more for us. The twin bedded rooms,( the one we were given,) were very small and maybe would be best used as a single also the fact that having to go upstairs on arrival with suitcases and there being no lift or anyone to help two elderly ladies, not ideal
