The hotel is small but the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was freshly made and it tasted good. The location is also good. It was only a few minutes walk to town centre. The free on-site parking facility is most useful to me as I had rented a car during my trip and saved me the trouble of parking the car somewhere else. I put the dirty towel aside and expected the staff who cleaned the room would change a new set of towels for me. However, she put the dirty towel back to the hanger and mixed with the clean one.

1. De uitbater wou ontbijt extra aanrekenen, al was dat betaald. Na het voorleggen van de papieren bond hij in. 2. De kamer was in de kelder en rook onvoorstelbaar muf. 3.

The bed was very comfortable with pleasant cotton sheets. Breakfast was without finess but edible. Bow guest house had a problem with its other guests who persistantly failed to flush the toilet. Decoratively and in tidyness it could do with a lot of work

Proximity to the town centre. People were living in the guest house on dss money and given that this was their home and they were not just 'guests' they were very loud and made for three terrible nights sleep. Despite the fact that I had a booking confirmation for a single room with breakfast I was told none were available and that I could have a double with no breakfast for the same price, had I had time to find alternative accommodation I would have done so. The room was advertised with free wi-fi yet despite asking for and being given the network key it was either impossible to find the network or if you could find it, it was impossible to connect.....not what I would call free wi-fi in every room!

Breakfast was prompt and good, location was only about 5 minutes from the town centre I found the Bow Guest house to be very basic indeed. Poor value for money and very tired and dated. The sign outside the Guest house mentions fully refurbished but the place is nothing of the sort. It feels cramped and small. From carpets, wallpaper to even the smell of the room its very poor, and lets be clear I'm not a fussy traveller. I work and just need a clean and tidy place to stay however I found the hotel wanting. My bed was desperately bad, whatever it was it didnt feel like a mattress I was sleeping on, it squeaked and moved all over the place. The fairest description I can give you is that it was like staying in a bedsit. Wallpaper peeling, everything tired and old, and when you have been working during the day, I didnt feel at all like I could relax, the walls were paper thin so I could hear snoring and talking too much from the adjoining rooms. If you come on Booking.com for hotel and see this priced the same as other places then avoid. It's one and only plus point to be worthy of is that its a minute or so away from convenience stores and takeways, other than that you have been given notice.

“It's about a 10 minute walk from Reading British Rail Station or a quick cab ride away. It was close to where we attended a works party. It's very close to all the shops which is good. Our room and immaculately clean the best I've ever seen in terms of cleanness. The en-suite bathroom was also spotless. They provided soap and shower gel and the usual tea and coffee etc. The bed linen was of a high quality, very crisp and clean. New soft furnishings were also good. The weather was cold but the guest house and our room was warm throughout the night. Other guests seemed quite and respectful, and the owners were warm, friendly and welcoming helping carrying bags etc.” Diane, London |
